I picked up an Xbox that was hard modded with the Xbox DUO X2 GS (Evox edition)

when I press the eject button (to disable the modchip) I get the error code 05.

when I turn it on with the power button & got in EvoX & exit to original dash then insert an original game it doesn't recognise any disc. I have tried swapping the drive, same outcome

When I am in EvoX & I click play game from dvd drive....nothing.

Any ideas how I can lock the drive & also make it play dvd games?

hi you can lock the drive with unleashx by goping to admin settings then hard disk, and select lock.

will your dvd player play any disks at all?

you dont need to hotswapbecause its hard modded just build the hdd on your pc.. use xbox hdm..
i wouldnt risk running chimp on an xbox when you cant boot dvd's

i have edited a copy of Hexen "heimdalls xbox engineering disk" it works from hard disk.

google search for
"Hexen For hard disk Drive not dvd"
you should find my upload. download that and ftp it to e:\
so you have E:\hexinst
go to e:\hexinst on your xbox then run default xbe.

tell that to flash your bios.

you have a duox2 so they use 512k bios's but you can just use a 256k bios if your using hexen.
make sure you use a 1.6 bios for 1.6 xboxes..

i recomend using 256k bios m8+ for a 1.6
or 256k bios IND bios For 1.0-1.5 xbox.

this will install a fresh dash and a good solid bios to start from.
it will restart when its done..

now try your dvd player again.

if it works. download "hexen heimdalls xbox engineering disk" (the dvd version) burn that to dvd-r at 4x or slower. then put your new hard disk in the xbox and boot the xbox with the hexen dvd..
follow on screen instructions to prep your disk.
