if you get far enough to be able to type lockhd -a
the only issues i can imagine would be the eeprom being in the wrong case. or not in the eeprom folder.. or in a folder in the folder..

can you verify the drives are lockable though?

40gb drives tend to be older, and the ability to lock drives was not always added to drives. and didnt become common untill relitivly recently.

also can you confirm that the drive is not frozen. Although a frozen drive would not give you an eeprom not found error.

Another amendment to what I have said earlier, it looks like the issue runs deeper than just XBOXHDM. I am using an 80 gigabyte hard drive now that I have no more unlocked and working 40 gigabyte hard drives to throw at this. I am using the DOS tools provided on the same to lock and unlock my drives. It's odd, really. I can lock and unlock the Xbox hard drive with ease, no problem at all. However, locking and unlocking the new hard drive doesn't work with this Xbox in question. You know what is stupid? I CAN get it to work on other Xbox consoles. What. The. Hell.? What could be wrong with THIS specific console that merits it not to work on any other hard drive? Perhaps another type of lock somewhere? Some kind of HD Serial lock? Or some other hidden code? Just to be sure, when the Xbox spits error code 06, does that mean it can't unlock the drive, or is it something else? I just don't get it. I want to douse this Xbox with gasoline (and trust me, if it were mine, I would have done so by now) but that won't solve the immediate issue...

its cant unlock..

try this..

i have uploaded hexen for hard disk drive on to the internet. so find that
ftp it to the xbox.

run hexen from E:\hexinst
tell it to 1 click delete any stupid eeprom files.
tell it to 1 click install krazies ndure 1.1.1 sc
it will back up the eeprom
Use that eeprom..

see how it works for you.

im recomending the hdd version because the dvd player sux on that box you said.
and im recomending you delete other eeprom files 1st just so you dont end up with some strange eeprom conflict

remember to unlock the hard disks you locked with other passwords 1st. as the new eeprom probably wont be able to unlock them.

black screen is normal it takes a while to load up...

if you can use the dvd version i recomend the dvd verison. burn it to dvd-r at 4x or slower.
it will also do the old black screen thing though..
it just takes a while to start.
