Locked Hard Drives.
« on: April 17, 2012, 09:08:00 AM »

I have 3 laptop hard drives that I had used in a modded xbox that I eventually sold. I never unlocked them before selling the box and now I need them to fix a laptop. Is there ANY way to unlock these without the xbox I locked them with? Thanks!

XBOXSCENE or TEAMASSEMBLY

remember unlock using master password then dissable using master password.

Is atapwd something that can be downloaded free from the net?  And can it recognize a HDD plugged into USB?  My IDE adapter from PC to laptop died on me sad.gif

it is free, and comes on xboxhdm under dos disk unlocking tools. or you find it on the internet..
its a dos program though so you need to boot it from a cd or something..
so xboxhdm is probably the easiest way to get it,
i dont know if it will work using a usb though. could depend on how your bios treats the usb. its 50/50

if you use xboxhdm. just chose dos unlocking tools then type atapwd when everything is done scrolling

i guess you could try and run it through the cmd. but i doubt it would work.

Thanks a ton!   I was able to unlock all 3 hard drives.  One of them was an SSD that I was paranoid I would never be able to use again.  You da' man  beerchug.gif
