Heimdall- In your previous post you said "taking care to put the numbered folder (or two folders for Splinter Cell) directly below the UDATA folder"

Do you mean put the folders inside the UDATA folder, or actually outside the UDATA folder and below it.

Thats the xbhdm 2.2 folder with the files.. It's a bit small but please look it over and tell me if you think I have done it correctly.

I mean logically below = inside. smile.gif

You need to put them in USB:\hdm\E\UDATA (yours is empty). You also need to put the ndure E files in USB:\hdm\ndure\E\, and make sure you use the ndure script that comes with xboxhdm2, not the one from Kingroach.

Once booted, your workflow should be:
Konsole
type xboxhd2
option 1 "Activate xboxhdm stage 2 on Primary master" (or options 2-4 depending on your setup)
option 1 - Boot VGA console with xbox-drive utilities
type xboxhd
option 1 - Build a new Xbox HD from scratch
option 2 - Rebuild C partition on existing Xbox drive
option 8 - Quit
type xbrowser
run the ndure script
option 1 - Install Ndure [Install only ndure files]
Exit the ndure script
Lock the disk (using one of the xboxhdm2 methods, as described in the manual)

here is my attempt last year at trying to solve this
read on a for a few posts as it covered font creation etc...issues I never expeted to see creating a soft mod.
frankly - i found the experience far too frustrating - & i never solved.
Spliff stepped forward & seemed to have a working method - clearly not in your case

Sorry guys, gotta make this short. I've had no luck with xbhdm v2.2.
I'm very computer savy, and every tutorial is the same, so I shouldn't have had so much trouble.
Despite following every instruction every time, never any luck.
It seems I'm not far off.
So for the meantime, I am going to try V1.9. (Do you need XP to run it's .iso making program?)
Seems like a lot of people say it worked for them, so I'm gonna give it a shot.
Still on vacation, so when I get home, I'm gonna try and get it to work.

Wish me luck, I'll tell you how it works out.

Thanks heimdall, made a couple things more clear to me in your worklog.
I'll give v2.2 another shot, with a couple tweaks, to see if that might fix my problem.

Other than that, I think I'll downgrade to v1.9 for the time being.
It will prove if I was actually using v2.2 incorrectly, or if my files are incorrect.

Thanks Scullc, I will have to give v2.1 a try.
Thank you for the info.

Still on vacation, but when I get back, I am going to try a couple different versions of xbhdm.
I am going to use stock files, I can just softmod using the 'old' game method afterwards.

One question, do UDATA and TDATA have to be included in :E, for a stock dash to function properly?
(they will be empty in my case, I have gamesaves on a usb)
Or will the xbox create the folders the first time you save a game?

The stock dash functions quite happily without UDATA and TDATA.

Heimdall- Thanks.

After I unlock my HD (using the eeprom) with hdm v1.9, can I return to the the main menu of xbhdm via command, or do I need to reboot my computer to return to the main menu?

(Sorry, haven't actually tried myself, yet.)

Ahhh yes!
Finally it worked!

The key was to use v1.9 not v2.2!

Thanks Guys!

I guess V 2.2 is harder to understand/ isn't perfected yet?
V1.9 was very simple, and I was successful with no frustration.

I suggest V1.9 over v2.2, even though USB seems more convenient than CD.
