Copy C: And E: From Another Xbox?
« on: February 02, 2020, 06:46:00 PM »

I'm sorry if this was already asked before, but I couldn't find anything through search...

My friend just got an Xbox that was modded by someone else. I'm doing him a favor by upgrading it with a bigger hard drive (it has the stock 6GB one in it).  I've already done it to my own Xbox, so I know what I'm doing in that respect.

But my problem is this... Whoever previously owned my friend's Xbox, for some reason played around with the filesystem in the wrong way and deleted a bunch of stuff. MSDash is gone (the Xbox video output is stuck in 480i without it) and UnleashX can't seem to load any apps except for EvoX, so my friend needs to go through two dashboards if he wants to play anything.

So rather than try to do surgery on the file tree, or give my friend an upgraded Xbox with the same dashboard problems, is it possible to copy the C: and E: drives from my Xbox, replace the eeprom file with the one from my friend's Xbox, and build an xboxhdm ISO from that?

You would be better off getting the stock C files from Slayer's. Get the game save exploit you use to softmod. Put those and his eeprom in Xboxhdm and build a new drive. Lock it and run the installer to softmod his Xbox.

Use Krazie's Ndure 1.1.1 for the exploit installer.

There would be many problems using your files on his drive.
