I think I remember reading somewhere that system link doesn't use the TCP/IP protocol in the usual way, assuming it uses it at all. I'm thinking the bridge you've setup on the laptop might not be passing on the relevant traffic.

It's a long shot, but perhaps it has to do with the MAC addresses used by the consoles? Have you cloned the EEPROMs?

Thanks for the link, interesting stuff will try some of the advice out a bit later. I do have a backup
of the EEPROMs but the consoles themselves aren't using them.
