Botched Resistor On An Xecuter 2.6 Install Causing Issues?
« on: February 28, 2011, 03:59:00 AM »

it looks like theres still some lacquer on the trace youre having trouble soldering to. as well as some in the hole. try using the smallest philips micro screwdriver and gently run that stuff away, being careful not to push too hard and lift the ring out. (you want it to look like silver or copper, but aim for silver that way you know u havent shavd away any of the ring.)
option 2 (or if you pulled the ring out) is to go up the trace on the other side of the board where you cant solder to and remove some of the lacquer on the actual trace a few mm up from the hole. heating it up and scraping at it with a flat head micro screwdriver works. then just solder it there.
you may need some hot glue to hold down the new resistor to make sure you dont bump it and pull it off because that WILL lift the trace and the ring.
good luck.
