This Sata Hd In A Xbox Lark
« on: December 23, 2010, 12:15:00 PM »

Ok so ive read through and read through the pinned sata thread.

I've got WD 1TB drive via the sata adapter and used AID4.52 to partition the drive as it noticed it was a new drive. I then used Xpartitioner 1.1V3 to give F: 120GB and the rest to G: which has now got 64k clusters.

Have i done this the right way before i start piling all my games onto it or is there now a better more stable way.

One you've checked and confirmed that the G partition has 64k clusters (see Format hard drive / check cluster size in my signature) then you can start putting data on there.

Well i would check if i could even get the machine too boot up now.

Symptons now are:

The machine without the AID disc in will go straight to the X3 bios settings screen where i can do anything at all as it seems to be semi-locked. The HD light on the X£ front panel is stuck on then i see it pause and teh X£ logo jumps a couple of frames then stops again.

If i put the AID disc in it will load but as soon as i try to run XBpartioner is just errors, if i try to install it it errors.

Waited a bit and the X3 bios screen was working properly so i reformated the HD within the X3 bios with the intention of just getting a basic setup so i could run XBpartioner and change it again. Again it just wouldnt play ball at all.

Perhaps ive just got a flakey sata adapter as it only cost me £4 on ebay.
