Can I Use My Gameshark Wireless Xbox Controller On My Pc?

Most likely. From the console's point of view, it's just a normal controller, so I'd expect it to work with any standard X-Box-to-USB adapter.

That's normal. A standard controller cable also has six wires in it - four, which are used in the same way as a USB cable would be, an extra yellow cable that's only used by certain "weird" devices (eg light guns), and an additional unshielded wire completely separate from the other five (seems to ground the controller into the console's RF shielding).

It's normally easy to miss it when cutting up a cable, but pretty obvious when examining the area where said cable connects to the controller's circuit board. It doesn't need to be connected to anything for the controller to work.
