Won't Boot, No Display, Red Light Blinking

A hardware fault of some description, or a possible corrupted BIOS in the modchip. I assume it makes no difference whether the chip is enabled or not?

Odds are the fault is around near the LPC region of the motherboard, where the modchip connects. It'd be worth confirming those joins haven't cracked or shifted over time - use a soldering iron to re-melt each of them, then allow them to solidify again.

Cheers for that.

I tried a lot of things, including moving the Xenium ICE into the spare unmodded xbox. Exactly the same thing happened, so it is a problem with the mod chip or the contacts. The Xenium ICE is mounted on that plastic thing which is attached on one side with a screw. I reckon the other side might be sticking up too much or something so I'll investigate again.
