Large Hdd (250gig) But G Partition Not There After Format
« on: October 30, 2010, 09:41:00 AM »

I installed a 250gig hard disk in my xbox 1.2.  It has a large F partition (like 120gig), hence it's using up to about 137gig.

However, I can format the G partition, but it doesn't show up anywhere after I format it.  It shows in the format menu but not in the storage.

I've tried under Evox M7 and Xecuter2 5035 firmwares using both the UnleashX and Auto Installer Deluxe.

I enabled the G partition in the settings and rebooted.  Still the same.

What I'd like to do is have one large F partition, how can I repartition things like this?  Or at worst case, how can I get it to see the G partition with the extra space?

Stick with X2.5035 (Evox M7 is old), and use XBPartitioner 1.1 to reformat the F/G partitions to give you one large F partition. Just run XBPartitioner 1.1, then press A to cycle between the standard layouts:

- F up to 137GB - no G
- All F
- F up to 137GB - remainder in G
- F:G 50:50.

Once you have selected your preferred layout, press Start to write the partition table to the disk, or press Back twice to quit. Note that you'll lose all data on F and G.

Excellent.

What I did was boot into Auto-Installer-Deluxe and ran XBPartitioner.  I gave F the full space by cycling through until it's size was the largest and then formatted it.  I then went back into UnleashX and it was still only 124gig, so I formatted it there and then it came up as the full 224gig, so I'm quite satisfied now.  Thanks!
