Seriously though, i would get a new motherboard and be done with it.
Even i you replace that capacitor it most likely wont work( you never know).

The box was flashing green before i removed the capasitator, now it is dead, so i assume i broke the circuit, i havent tried to bridge it yet though. What is the spec of the burned cap?

If i move the chip to a new motherboard, do i need to reinstall the bios?

only if its going from a non-1.6 to a 1.6 (or vice versa) otherwise no

There are some BIOS types that won't transfer between other models, but they're far less common then the 1.6 issue.
