120gb Lockable Hdd

If you use it in your chipped Xbox it doesn't need to be locked. That is what I would do. I usually use Western Digital drives. All have been able to be locked. You may need to check the BIOS on the mod chip to make sure it will use the full capacity of the drive. Use the latest Xbpartitioner after you put it in to ensure it is formatted correctly. I would use Slayer's Auto Installer.

My chipped Xbox is something I was going to ask about because I did realise (from what I've read) that the locking issue isn't applicable. Problem is it is a v1.6 machine and it seems I can't use the Chimp26 app with it can I?

I should mention that I don't have or have access to a PC so Chimp26 on the AID disc I do have is all there is to work with. So no, Slayers Auto Installer and no TSOP flashing or changing BIOS, which I believe means I won't be able to use any HDD larger than 137GB, at least not to its full capacity.

But thanks for the confirmation about Western Digital and the others usually being OK. The compatibility list does say they WD are the ones that most commonly lock. I just wanted to know that still holds true.

There is a new version of chimp that has a GUI that works with V1.6 xbox's, you can use XBpartioner to fix the hdd size issue once the new is installed. C and E drive are left intact and all the free space can be apportioned to F or F and G drive.
