it will work on a 1.0-1.5 xbox and yes it would be best to have a modded xbox to take advantage of the extra ram.

How many times: you haven't flashed anything, you've installed a softmod. No flashing involved anywhere.

WHICH NDURE softmod have you installed? They all put the dash in different places, so to upgrade the dash you have to know which one you used so you know which files to change.

That's not an NDURE softmod, it's a UXE softmod.

No, it's definitely possible, it's just a very old softmod.

Your dash is at E:\dashboard\default.xbe. To upgrade to XBMC here is what you do:

Get hold of the latest XBMC (start at XBMC4Xbox for a discussion of the latest stable version), and the latest T3CH version of XBMC. You only need the \_tools\ directory from the T3CH build.

Install XBMC as an application, in E:\Apps\XBMC\. Get it running properly, make sure you're happy with the version you choose.

Next, get hold of the latest UnleashX (the version that comes with Krayzie is a little old - the latest version is UnleashX_0_39_0528A.rar). Install it in E:\Dash\UnleashX\. This is so you have an alternate dash, for example to use when you want to manually upgrade XBMC in the future.

Next, take the SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC files from the T3CH \_tools\ directory. Rename the xbe file to default.xbe, rename the config file to default.cfg, and edit default.cfg to point to E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe. Put both files in E:\Temp\ and run E:\Temp\default.xbe from your Xbox file manager, to make sure that it launches XBMC properly.

Once the shortcut is working, copy both shortcut files (default.xbe and default.cfg) from E:\Temp\ to E:\Dashboard\, replacing the existing default.xbe. Next time you boot you will have XBMC as your dash.

I've run into abit of a problem, my xbmc tools folder has two .xbe. One is 64k and the other is 60k.

I had to create my own temp folder as there wasn't one in /e and now i don't no how to test xbmc. what i was going to do was try one .xbe file with the .cfg file and then try the other etc. And when you say file manager how do i get to that under evox ? i have no clue how i can test this.

thanks,

SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC

Yes, your E:\ partition doesn't come with a temp directory.

As for the file manager, that's what happens when you install Evox as your dash - no file manager. Use FTP to install UnleashX as an application (at E:\Apps\UnleashX\default.xbe), then run it as an application from Evox and use the UnleashX file manager to do your shortcut testing.

What resolution are you using?

It maybe nothing to do with what you describe but if it's set to 1080i try swapping to 720p and see if that resolves the problem.

BTW you sound surprised that actually writing in the UnleashX app path with the correct upper and lower case letters made it work. You really shouldn't be - such things are rather important, to say the least.

Nope, 480p 720p and 1080p are all greyed out by default and set as normal is it not possible to play these resolutions?

Yes, it's possible. You need an HDTV and a component cable, and you need to reconfigure your Xbox. Start with this tutorial.

XBMC on the Xbox won't play 720p mkv unless they are coded in a very specific way. The Xbox just doesn't have enough processing power.
