I've got a region 4 (.au) console that's (to my knowledge) never had a dvd remote used with it (bought it 2nd hand). Rather than pay the high price of local stores I've been thinking about getting a few from some US ebay stores that can go for $4 each. A few friends also need one so if I pool the shipping it can work out pretty well.

My question is, I've heard that the region of the remote (im assuming this is the infared adapter that does this) needs to match the region of the unit for the normal xbox dvd player, BUT does this also effect use with XBMC? I dont care about the MS one.
