12v Mod And Ms28 Fw
« on: October 10, 2007, 01:03:00 PM »

I have connected the 2 exhaust fans and 1 cpu fan to the dvd pin 12v line. Is this ok?  Will this draw too much amps and damage anything ?It is running great so far and its been 5 days. I am concered because there are few discs not working read error clean disc...And some same media brand work fine. I am wondering if this 12v has something to do with it.
Please help !

i doubt the error message is caused by the fans, but i wouldn't leave them hooked in there... i read somewhere that you should really only hook 1 fan to that... i have 3 soldered to the 12v under the power supply plug, much better way of doing it because then ur not robbing any components of their power.

I would not recommend drawing any power at all from the dvd drive as it tends to eventually lead to the death of your drive unsure.gif
