Sector One Flashing On A Hitachi
« on: April 24, 2007, 02:14:00 PM »

Hey i recently switched drives and rekeyed this one to work with my 360 it works fine reads reg xbox 360 games. So i go to flash it and o coursethis happens

I am running xbox 360 connectivity kit for this process and am powering from my main cpu but am flashing from my laptop (main cpu is windows x64 too many complications)

Flashing 1/9 sector 90003000 <Xtreme Custom Code>...

DeviceIOControl<> failed 0
failed to execute flasher <sense: 05/26/00>

Is the flashing stable...

Done.
Done.

The rest of the process proceeds smoothly... so what im asking is to play my backups does that need to go sucessfully and if so .. What now?

Ps I know theres a bunch of posts with similar problems but I could not find an answer to any of them with this exact problem.

Thanks ya'll have been a real help.

Iv'e had the same problem before about 4 times myself but the flashing program tries again utill it actually flashes the sector correctly and wont move on to the next one until it does, so your drives flashed correctly for backups biggrin.gif

probably because its already flashed that sector, not %100 sure because i haven't even heard of it passing once getting the sense error

anyways if it said the flashing is %100 then it should be ready to go, have you tried a backup yet?

if it doesnt work you can always manually flash that sector

take now.bin and copy it to the main dir of Gary (note: if you use the autoflasher again it will be deleted that's why i suggest you copy instead of moving it)

put the drive back in modeb and open a cmd prompt and nav to Gary main dir

(the fallowing cmd line is typed assuming you have a 47 and the drive letter is h)

type "47flash h now.bin 90003000 1000" (w/o quotes)

hit enter, if it gives you an error try again, if it still gives you the error the 3rd time then the drive isn't connected right or its not in modeb

The batch files in the package are very much fool-proof.

If it passes and continues the flash, then the sector did in fact flash,
or it was already the same (if updating the firmware v2.3 to v2.3rev2).

The original 46FLASH/47FLASH programs are a little buggy,
they sometimes report an error, but in fact do the flashing.

It helps to either have NO DISC in the tray, or leave the tray OPEN during flashing.

If the batch file detects a different in the flash compare to the modded firmware,
it will ask the user to restart the flashing, if it does not then it is fine and perfect.

Always make sure you use the latest package which corrects many little
oversights in the first releases and is much more fool-proof in running.

The last release for Hitachi firmware was: "Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2.rar"

I get this exact same error message since upgrading to windows vista so maybe that has something to do with it.

the drive does flash fine after the error message, but it always fails on the stealth flashing first step so i don't get any drive stealth when i flash anymore

I've had this happen on a couple of occasions and now when I think back to it all of those drives were previously modded at some stage even though the owner may not have known about it e.g second hand xbox
