Have you bothered to read about how lots of walmarts aren't setting up their systems correctly?

That might explain what you have seen... look around there are like 3 threads going on about it.

Well look at the first xbox games compared to the latest Splinter Cell... I think developers definitely get much better after having some time to work with the hardware.

True, for the most part.  But i still think that halo 1 looks overall better then 95% of xbox games currently out.

For what it is it does look good... one to one... I can't agree with that... There are some incredible stuff... but nothing that is as high paced and unpredictable as halo.

Well spl cell 3 on my xbox 733 mhz, geforce 3.5, 64mb ram runs better than on my pc 2600 mhz, 1024 mb ram, 9700pro. Just to say that specs doesnt mean shit.

Im getting fed up with this  not next gen shit.

Look at it this way (and im quoting someone else:)

People are getting too tied up with this "next generation" wording. When the 6800 graphics card came out from nvidia it was classed as a next generation card, no one had a problem with that as it's was twice as fast and had a lot of more and new features than its predecessor. Now we have a console that is around 20 times as fast is it's predecessor with a graphics card that has moved 3 PC generations and the first commercial triple! core processor in the home. Console games showing for the first time ever dashboard multi tasking with a game and literally thousands of on screen NPC's that have yet to be seen in any game to date
No it doesn't have life like graphics and never will have. Who cares?
Look at it this way - put a $600 graphics card (7800gtx extreme) in your $1000 PC and load COD2 set all the lighting and AA the same as the xbox (which is all the way up on all settings) and set it to a 720p resolution. Now watch as the $300 console wipes the floor with your PC. Now if that's not next gen I don't know what is."

Nuff said.

I think m$ has dropped the ball with their kiosk..they sould make sure that thier product is presented correctly..I think this mistake sum;s it up.

I went to the kiosk next to my house and get this..the 360 had the wireless control and no recharge kit so basically it only worked for about 5 hours till the batteries went out.I told the guy working what is wrong with people why didnt you get the wired control and he was clueless..

all i was able to see was the trailers and the demo and i was impressed because i had never seen a game concul with hd...wow beerchug.gif cant wait

Here is the part you are forgetting, try playing Splinter Cell 3 on your computer @ 640x480 like the xbox, not 1024x768 or 1280x1024. Lower the graphics to medium and not very high. I guarantee it will run more than fine on your PC when set with xbox graphics quality rolleyes.gif

i wont say much as there are already MANY topics about the kiosks that i have already given my indepth previews and opinions on.  i just wish some people would atleast do SOME research and reading before posting topics that are uneducated and with little point.   blink.gif

Go into the Kiosk dashboard and under the the settings blade check to make sure the output video mode is set to 720p...

The 3 Walmarts in my area were all set to 480p as opposed to 720p... EBs and Best Buys were set correctly.

in 480p there are Jaggies EVERYWHERE in 720p they are next to non-existant

From some of the articles I've read MS set explicit instructions to wait for an MS rep to setup the kiosks which most walmart employees disregarded and just setup themselves. Also it would seem that even if it IS setup correctly idiot employees could change it to the lower resolution, also ANYONE who uses the kiosk could change it.

Case and point: a local best buy can't play the demo disk... why? because some schmuck though it would be funny to enable the parental lock in the dashboard at the strictest level (no content plays without the password)....

I am aware of the kiosks fiasco... however I doubt this was the case.  The games bump mapping looked too clear, aspect ratio looked correct and the colors were extremly vivid.  I for one know my stuff when it comes to connecting systems properly.  I plan on day 1 connecting this to my 50" DLP HDTV and running COD2 on 1 of my Component inputs.  At the same time I'm gonna fire up my Home Theater PC connected via HDMI to the same TV set.  I'm going to load up the same maps for both systems and do a comparison.  I do still hope that its a software issue and not a hardware issue.

when devs start to warm up to the hardware will we see huge jumps in the graphics beyone what high end PCs can do.  since the minimal standard will be higher then that of the PC gaming we can surely expect 360 and ps3 games to far exceed what we expect out of games.
