1.5 Xbox 007 Raincoat Solder Pins?
« on: January 05, 2004, 09:21:00 PM »

Does anybody know what pins one must solder for a v1.5 xbox to be able to write to the bios and therefore use the 007 raincoat mod?

A picture would be most helpful

hell pics of the soldering for 1.0-1.5 would be most appreciated.

you need to solder 2 (4 pins) spots?  on the 1.0 and 1.1 you only need to do one spot, aka 2 pins.

in the red circles you see those 2 dots in each one?  BRIDGE THEM TOGETHER
one drop of solder on one red circle and another on the other one.

1.2's and on motherboards you can bridge BOTH jumper locations ON TOP of the motherboard
making it easier than version 1.0 and 1.1 motherboards which you have to bridge ONE jumper on top (bottom red circle in picture) and one on BOTTOM (you can find in tutorials section)

NOW..just for some extra info..
1.2's and up yes you can bridge the jumpers on top BUT.. if you only bridge the jumpers on top (instead of bridging ONE on top and ONE on bottom) I do not think evox will flash the tsop ... ONLY 007... if you need evox to flash the tsop .. you have to bridge the jumper on bottom of motherboard (instead of the top red circle in picture.. or you can do all 3)

so 1.2 and up you solder the same places on the mobo?  so this walk through http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act...ST&f=43&t=61901 can be used for a 1.5? well as long as you get a newer bios and the newest evox?

Yes.. the tsop points are the same really for ALL board versions
1 (jumper point on top) 1 (on bottom)..

BUT the 1.2's - 1.5's have a 3rd point
(which is the same as the bottom of motherboard point)
(doing these top points will only allow you to flash through 007 I believe)
(doing the top & bottom of motherboard points will allow evox to flash)

so that tutorial is fine.. as long as you use the correct version bios for the right version board.
and get the most current raincoat also making sure the correct size bios file..

btw when you use raincoat
BEFORE DOING  -p bios.bin  (actually begin of flashing)

do a  -r originalbios.bin  (backs up current bios READ function)

by doing this you do 2 things..
1. Find out if your ONE jumper (READ) is done correctly.. because if it copies it .. it can READ it..
2. backs up your original bios.  and stores it in the save directory on the hard drive (which is where I run the save game from.. NOT the memory card)

probably more info than you cared about knowing.. you sound like you got it down.

good luck.  post your results.

On the 1.0/1.1 board you've got to solder one set on the top and another set on the bottom.

You need 3 jumpers only for SHARP TSOP (most present in 1.2)

I've not tried it myself, but word around here is that evox will not flash the winbond chip in most 1.5 systems. Use the newest raincoat (.51) and it'll flash like a charm.
