This is probably the reason ALL THOSE  v1.5  boxxes are getting FLASHED BAD....!
[check the link]

the v1.5 has NO ground and 3,3Volt on the LPC

i am going to test it RIGHT NOW,
on a v1.5 with WINBOND  W49F020T-90B
and FOCUS  chip....

QUOTE (Henrideath @ Nov 30 2003, 09:24 AM)
...

1) Your Xbox is fragging (2 reboot and red/green light) you'll have to boot on the first 256k of your tsop, here's the only way I found to do that :

Solder one wire per point you see circled in red on this picture

You must have 3 wires, long enough to have one of their end out of the xbox. Now listen carefully. Put everything back in the Xbox, and join the three wires ends. Boot your console. It will use the first quarter of the tsop, the 256k you flashed on the 1meg eeprom. Once booted, and evox accessed (or 007),[Thanks Troed] separate the three wires, you can flash it again... Please beware of what you're doing, that's your last chance to get out of this mess without buying a LPC.

If you leave the three wires soldered, your TSOP will become a 256k one like on the latest (after v1.1) versions of Xbox.

...

Hope it will help... I'm french so please forgive my english, Post messages if you have a question.

HenriDeath

Thanks for your help... I goofed on my xbox version and with your guide had it booted and reflashed in 10 minutes...

Thanks again...

The HD Unlock tutorial does not seem to make sense.  It seems to assume that the xbox you are unlocking the HD with was locked on that same Xbox.  The eeprom of Xbox1 will not necessarily work for the locked HD.

If, say, the HD were locked by ConfigMagic, the HD could be unlocked using the code TEAMASSEMBLY.  If not... you'll have to find the xbox it was locked on, and find a way to boot it (modchip or whatever) and use evox's backup feature.  Grab the eeprom and load liveinfo with the locked HD plugged into your computer.  That would do it...

Well, I have an Xbox v 1.0 - I am trying to follow this tut but unfortunatly I cannot find all the points that are on the motherboard, infact I can only find the main one right next to the yellow block. where are the other two points located? can someone make a decent shot of the other two points I need to solder wires to. Here are some screens

blink.gif ...
I flashed my TSOP with a corrupt bin file, and I got a nutty light
code. Upon the next attempted boot after I flashed the box,
it would immediately blink ORANGE/RED/GREEN constantly.
To add to that, when my box was initally modded (with a
29 wire mod... Matrix I belive) the D0 & alt D0 points got messed
up and had to be re-wired (by a friend of mine).
NOW... I built a 29 wire Homebrew mod out of a
Winbond W29C020 Flashrom(256k) off an old PC. I followed
this tutorial to make the chip. I followed this tutorial to
connect the chip to the board. (having to repair the D0+alt D0
again) After making all the connections I tried out the mod.
Happily, the box didn't boot to the ORANGE/RED/GREEN... it
booted one solid GREEN, one flashing GREEN, then flashed
RED/GREEN. I hope that means I just need to tell the box
I am using a 256k modchip. Any suggestions are welcome!
I will try the 3 wire bypass and see what happens. I hope it
works.  I just hope I repaired the D0 & alt D0 correctly.
If not... I might just buy a new mobo  wink.gif
I'll post my results later.

wink.gif Nope... no dice. My xbox still will not post. I still get the
"2 green then green/red flashing" light code. I have tripple
checked all my soldering points. I figure my D0 + alt D0 'repair'
is not sufficiant or the Homebrew chip I am using will not work.
I guess I will just buy a new motherboard now... unless
someone knows how to fix my mobo problem.
Oh well.... it was fun nukin' my xbox =)
... A little sickening... but fun  laugh.gif

This is what I did.  I have a 200 gig hd in my xbox.  I had a bad flash on my x2.2lite+ so I took out the modchip.  It work for 3 weeks then it stop working.  Now my xbox 2x boots then frags.  Will the 3 wires method work?  Replacing a new modchip fix my xbox?  Any other suggestion is helpful...TIA!!!

yeah; I figured it out after like 3 hours that it was on the bottom of the motherboard... It was late and I have been working on the project for quite some time.

The 3 wire trick worked perfectly. I was able to reflash my TSOP with the 1mb bios that I should've done in the first place and now I am letting Gentoox's magic application compile a shit load of updates; should take all day! hehe
