Use component-buy an adapter for it, High Definition Adapter. You can tell the difference. But i recommend a tv. HDTV to be exact.

Yeah, definately use component, that way you get a progressive scan image which is the biggest plus.

You'd just need to buy 3 BNC to RCA converters. They can be found in practically any decent electronics store.

I was playing Soul Calibur 2 on a neighbours house a few weeks ago. Man did it go off, over 350 inches!!!

To my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) the Xbox does not put out a 720p image, so you won't get the added benefit of progressive scan

What have you been smoking? Of course the Xbox does high definition/progressive scan! 480p, 720p and 1080i to be precise. As long as you have a HDAV pack connected, they're listed under the Xbox dashboard.

Your HDTV/Projector/Plasma, etc has to support the hi-def resolutions if you want to use it.

Hoping to play Soul Calibur 2 in 720p in the custom theatre i bulit for the projector.

In all honesty, I much rather play SC2 in 480p widescreen than 720p 4:3 mode.

I hope they fix it for the US release.

FYI: 480p and Interlaced video is not High Definition. It may look a little better than what you're used to, but by no means it is high def.

I know 480p isn't classed as High Definition, it's classed as Enhanced Definition. 480i is just Standard Definition as what any run-of-the-mill TV can do.

HD is anything above that, ie 720p, 1080i, etc. In fact the reason there are more TV's that can do 480p/1080i than 480p/720p/1080i is because it's harder for the TV to output a 720p image than a 1080i image. 1080i is really just 540p as far as the TV is concerned..

Have a look at this pdf if you're interested

Actually folks component isnt really the best way to go , especially if you have an LCD or DLP projector.  A true vga output to an LCD projector will give you the brightest and sharpest image and with the new xbox media-player 2.4  you can use selectable resolutions.  A progressive scan component hookup looks very nice and it give you a 2x line double .  with a vga adapter and customizable resolutions we could be doing a 4x line double.  and you have to see it to believe how nice that image is.
