I have just recently begun with ... hacking/patching games that are on my Xbox and I was wondering if its possible to add colors to cars? Like a purple police car or something?...

I have been reading through the .dat file of GTA 3 but so far no luck... any hintds or tips?

In GTA 3 there is a file called carcols.dat, you can edit that to have whatever car colors you want. I changed the ambulances to black in my game and it works fine.

I did that too! But can I have multiple colors?

Look at the structure of the carcols.dat file, you'll notice that in game most cars are not just one color, look....

ambulan, 1,3
banshee, 54,1, 14,1, 52,1, 61,1, 43,1, 51,1, 12,1, 11,1
bellyup, 19,73, 31,74, 45,75, 58,76, 64,77, 73,76, 34,75, 24,74

The ambulance is on color, and the banshee and fish truck are multiple colors. Pretty easy to figure this one out.
