Gta 3 Player Skins...

Is it possible to change the player skins? Ive extracted all the .TXD files from the GTA3.img file, downloaded and installed TXD Workshop (and various other utils). None of the TXD utils will allow me to open the player.txd file, I assume this is where the skin is. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
