How do I setup the email portion of xbmc-2005-05-30?

it's in the readme file

find the "mail retriever.py" file in your scripts folder and edit it, and read what it says,

it doesn't work with hotmail and gmail

I tried editing the script but now it just states "unable to connect to server"...what am I doing wrong?

Make sure you have the ' before and after the username, password, and mailserver

Example:

"Mail Server'
'Username'
'Password'
