because I coudln't find anything.

Here's the situation and what I'd like to do.

There are a few streams online that I think i've found the correct address for, including some from my XM account and some from other internet streaming sites.

I tried searching through both the xs forums, the xbmc forums and the python manual, but I think I'm searching for the wrong thing.  

At this point I've become confused on what I'm trying to do.  I had originally thought I could write a script

(or better, find a generic script where all I had to do was fill in the name and stream address)

and have just play the stream when it was run, but now I think I need to figure out a GUI for it?  is that right?

if there's been topics covering this already, if someone could please direct me toward them because my searches keep turning up stuff on streaming media from a computer and not the internet
