Why Won't Xbmc Load Up If My Xbox Is Connected To
« on: March 05, 2005, 08:03:00 PM »

Dashboard - Avalaunch.

It says "Loading Xbox Media Centre" and then it hangs at a black screen after that.

It only happens when my Ethernet cable is in the back of my Xbox.

you may have an IP conflict.. check settings and make sure the IP address you are assigning the xbox isnt the same as another computer on your network

I have the same problem too, but I only have one computer and router has assigned .0.3 as xbox, and my computer is .0.2

johnny did you happen to have problems with the last release as well just out of curiosity's sake?

My Xbox has only been modded for 2 days, I didn't get the chance to try the last release.

It's really annoying, I have to unplug the Ethernet cable, go into XBMC, then plug it back in, and I can't figure out how to use anything.

For example, if I try and use the iTunes network link to play music, it comes up with an error screen, where it tries to FTP, and then I have to press a button to reboot.

I'm glad it's more than me with this error.

i havent been able to use it since the december. ive deleted cache, the e:/tdata and udata 0face008, in both. I've reinstalled 2 times and nothing helps.

I finally had to get back to decembers for it to work but I want to try the dvd player in this one hoping for better quality. oh well, I shall wait more until we figure this out!

it also happens regardless of bios, x2 or evox

From evo-x or msdash delete both e:\tdata\0face008 and e:\udata\0face008

Install a virgin release of xbmc, do not change ANYTHING.

If you use evo-x disbale IGR and TSR and try.

if your itunes isn't set up right in xboxmediacenter.xml or for any reason you can't connect to it (ie. itunes isn't setup to share or isn't running) you'll get that error with an older release of xbmc.

I deleted 0face008 from both, installed a virgin release, the latest with nothing changed.

i use avalaunch, any ideas?

I did all of this twice and now I cant get in whether it's plugged in to the router or not.

oh and I cleared all the cache too, both times, before and after install

I did this, I installed the one available to download straight from the Avalaunch dashboard, and now it works perfect.

I just have to set up iTunes and I'll be all good to go :D
