Can't Get Scripts To Work

Me and a friend of mine have the following problem:

Whenever I try to run scripts either nothing happens or XBMC hangs when something has to be downloaded from the Internet.

I have the 01-04-2005 release form gueux.be and I have followed the instructions of a toturial and copied the files from python23.zip to xbmc\python, but the scripts don't work.:S

Got the problem solved, DNS ip was incorrect... :(
