don't queue up so many, try queuing up just one, but that probably isn't why it's blacking out like that.  It basically sounds to me like it isn't seeing the clips.  Try restarting the xbox, queuing up a file, running the script, and then if it does that again, go back to the video section and go to the now playing section (black button) and tell me what it shows queued up.  I guess just double check that you've specified the directory correctly.  If you want, I could just rar up mine and upload it somewhere for you to download or something, and then tell you where to add which folders and stuff

sure...exactly what features are you using?  Are you planning on doing the trivia intro clips with the music with movie trailers and commercials and all that jazz, or do you just want the one folder of files to play
a few videos before the movie, and if so, how many files would you like to play?

Sorry for forgetting about this thread. the few times I checked on it, no one had responded.

The Trivia slides should go on for 25 slides.

The different directories were created to reduce the chances of video getting looped.

Tim  could you send me your changes so I can merge them back? And no, I'm not the main writer, just liked the idea.

And right now, the only way I can think of to grab the vids off of the apple.com/trailer site is to use the quicktimetrailer backend to do it all, and that will add quite  a bit to the main part of the script.

Any ideas?

Greek,

Do  you have the trivia slides?  If not, you need to set Trivia=0

I wish I could help you, but I know very little about python.  I tried learning a while ago, but was quickly distracted by something else, and my reason for needing to learn disappeared anyway. I tried looking through the quicktimebrowser script to see if I might be able to copy and paste some stuff and add a few things to make it work, but I was completely confused looking through that thing.  If you figure out a way to do it though, I think you should have it start to download the trailers pretty much the instant you start the script so that they're completely or at least mostly cached by the time it gets to actually playing it.  For those using the trivia clips, there would easily be enough time for it to download them all the way.  I just think it would be a bit smoother, because you'd be sittin ghtere for like 15 or 20 seconds of a black screen while you waited for it to cache if it just did it when it got to it, and also, I might suggest trying to get it to automatically choose the medium video size, or perhaps make that a setting people can change in the file, because many of the "Large" quicktime trailers are SUPER high quality and lag like mad when the xbox tries to play it, even if it's already 100 percent cached.

Also, what exactly do you mean by "merge them back?"  My "modifications" are very simple ones that are just for personal preference, changing the order of which videos it retrieved first and how long it did the trivia reel and so on
