Can Xbmc Be Calibrated?
« on: March 05, 2005, 10:26:00 AM »

Can I adjust XBMC(the dash itself, not the DVD viewing). I know a few dashes can do this. (Ex, UnleashX)
I see how many great things XBMC has, more than other dashes combined. Very nice guys. However, I have not found an option to adjust XBMC dash to fit my screen area, there are about two inches off every side when vieing XBMC, it's very annoying.
I hope someone can help me, thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if many people have issue with it not fitting there screen... I've only seen the Center User Interface selection in Apperance settings. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but try changing your resolution from 4:3 (if that's what it's set to) to 16:9 might stretch it out some

I doubt that will help. My TV needs desperately to be calibrated. Untill I get a new TV or get someone to cailbrate it, the only yhting I can do is adjust XBMC to fit my television.
For kicks though, how would I change the resolution?

What good will an answer do you untill you get home then?

I am just wondering as you cant try befor you get home, and when you get home why would you need confirmation when you can TRY yourself?

But yes, you can change resolution in XBMC aslong as the same resolutions (widescreen, 480p, 720p, 1080i) are activated in MSDash. Or you can just TRY the auto detect...

It's not the reso. as waltlove said, I have an overscan problem and I want to know if there is a screen adjustment option.
And saks1 said that there is an option to do that in settings>appearence>change UI.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Maybe I didn't word something correctly.
Also, if I had an answer now, I could just go to my Xbox and fix it without being unsure if the attempted fix is correct.

You can change the size of the display area of the video playback screen, but you can't adjust the size of the overall interface.

In Settings -> Appearance you can do it move it around, altering its X/Y center coordinates, but that's about it. No scaling.

Get a pro to calibrate your TV, or get a new TV, or learn to live with it.
