Hi,

I'm going to add a feature to neXgen that will autosearch for the M$ Dash and would like to know what the most common names are that people are using to rename the xboxdash.xbe file to.

Thanks in advance to what name(s) you come up with.

For the newer modchip users, it's still "xboxdash.xbe". For the old modchip users, it's "msxboxdash.xbe". Though I've seen some modchip installer that still renames the stock dash, though the BIOS has complete capability to have up to 3 different names.

In any case, you can just open both and look for the name. It's "Xbox DashBoard", I think?

I'm using X-select and my m$ dash is named xbox.xbe. I think this may be common for people who use x-select.

yep xboxdash.xbe over here too

this will definently be true for live users as it has to be xboxdash.xbe

thats why i have it that for live

Actually, come to think of it, I do have xboxdash.com. DUH. It's my evoxdash that I shortened to evox.xbe.

Currently my WIP version of the dash has a dashboards submenu that i coded so that it searches the System: drive for *.xbe and puts them in a list. Kinda tells me how careless i am being when i have 4 nexgen results, 1 avalaunch, 3 xbox dash and 2 remoteX(evox). Keep your eyes out for more news on nexgen.

mine's called xboxdash.xbe
about my other dashes, edited most of their titles to show the version number
otherwise I have like 2-3 times avalaunch, few evoxs, mxm's,....

neXgen will now auto search for your original dash and if not found will launch a user specified dash. More news and info to come about the upcoming release of neXgen.
