Well, I replaced the PSU with a switchable one and I'm using the cable from my old radio - prob not affected.
I do remember the problem this addresses being discussed some time ago when I was looking into getting a replacement PSU for the dead xbox I had just picked up on eBay - wonder why MS have taken so long to react to this problem?
Would be interesting if I tried to get a US cable delivered to Scotland from US, or asked MS UK for a US type cable smile.gif

According to MS Corp. people had got burn injuries from their power cords. Now do MS recalls 14.1 million power cords for Xbox consoles.
The recall covered all Xboxes made for continental Europe before Jan. 13, 2004, and the rest of the world before Oct. 23, 2003.

Merged your thread, BamseBjornen.  Not sure why you didnt post in the already created thread, and you seem to have missed the fact that this was xbox-scene.com already also.

Guys, what if I replaced my PSU? Will it still affect? Is the problem from the PSU or mobo??

ok let me set the record straight....MS is pulling some bullshit lie out of their ass...i love MS but the power cord is not the prob.the prob is the power supply unit inside the xbox... it has a problem with breaking the solder joints loose...MS is just not willing to go broke by replasing 14 million psu's... so they have to act like they are fixing the problem to cover their asses in a law suit to say they thought they fix the problem... every repairman out there knows this is bogus...but burning yourself is the rarest thing that could happen from this problem it is just a few known cases but the 3 cord limit suxx cause i have about 20 xboxes...not that i care to get the cords anyways knowing what the real problem is... after saying this bill gates will probably bury me next to jimmy hoffa....so if i never show up again know that i have been taken.....

I thought it should be a normal cord, just a new created one.. Not a cord with a safety box-switcher blink.gif

LOL!!! This is so fucking hilarious, the problem is the PSU, and MS is just covering their ass by putting a GFI in this ugly-ass cable?

Somebody needs to write a detailed article (with pics of fried PSU's and mobo's), and submit it to one of the news websites, if this gets out MS will be in some deep shit...

Wait, did MS ever say that the power cords were DEFECTIVE?

If so, we caught them in a very big lie, since there is absolutely nothing wrong with the power cords (and some of the "new" cords arent any different from the original).

This is a big cover up, and should be exposed.

We need:

-Quotes from MS specifically saying that the problem was the cord
-pics of power supplies that have the plug loose/broken off (the actual problem)
-pics of fried/burnt motherboards and power supplies (to prove that it is the box thats frying, not the cord)

-Finally, some people on here to write a very professional article on the matter to be submitted (I am willing to write the majority of it)

Who's with me?
