Some XLink Kai Support Coming to FreeStyleDash v2.x
Posted by XanTium | September 28 17:18 EST | News Category: Xbox360

W.I.P. screenshots of the new upcoming FreeStyleDash v2.x build for homebrew 360s has been posted on their official forums. Besides pictures of the Games List and Achievements screens, we also see they are working on integrating some XLink Kai support in the homebrew dashboard. From what we heard you will still have to run XLink Kai on your PC, FSD will just use the remote function of XLink to give access to some features of XLink directly from within the dashboard.
Like on the Original Xbox, XLink Kai allows to play system-link enabled multi-player Xbox360 games over the internet, which became useful since the Dash Launch plugin removing the 30ms-ping-limit on the Xbox360.

Looks fantastic! Keep it up Team FSD!!

EDIT: from this pic it looks like someone has managed to run the new dash 2.0.12387 on a jtag? or maybe on a devkit?

Very very slick. I would like fan speed control to be reinstated please. My machine could use it for safety from RROD. Thanks. Thats the only reason why Im still on 1.10RC.

Fan control was available in an early update. I don't know its status now as I've mostly been playing Reach when on LIVE during my gaming time, but it functioned perfectly in the build I was using.

As for this news, I gasped with excitement. This is amazing news and much welcomed. I look forward to more great times on Kai.

This is great. I would go on Kai a lot more with this in place. Looking forward to it.  pop.gif

Hell YES! I was hoping this was going to come out! Now I don't have to turn it into a 3 year dream project of mine.

I wonder if it would ever be possible to have Xlink kai manageable from the guide button, instead of having to revert to the dashboard to switch hosts? This would mainly be for the people who run the Kai client on their routers (DD-WRT), bypassing the PC altogether. I know this isn't the field of Team FSD, I'm just curious to the idea in general. Above all, fantastic work, looking forward to the release (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

They're also integrating trainers, which is very cool.

Aw. If it's not manageable from the guide button then I won't really use it.
