is there a way to make a freestyledash bootable disc?

like how original xbox had "xiso" to create bootable iso from raw contents/files.

Seems to me the easiest way around the scanning issue is just to make it manual.  Add a button that the user has to push if they want to start a scan, and don't have it start automatically.   Problem solved
