I may be wrong but I believe you should edit the snippet as follows
Am I wrong or does the retail tag look for official xex's as opposed to ones that have been modified/homebrew?

you're right

Fsd 2.0 Release
« Reply #256 on: July 28, 2010, 07:03:00 AM »

i could f$%king scream...........

let me start by saying thanks very much for taking the time to create such a nice looking launcher BUT
after trying now various different wys of loading my GODS, EMUS and other stuff all i keep getting is

error with 3 options

1. reload FSD
2. back to NXE
3. try to continue

every time, no matter what way i change the config.xml

i have tried copying peoples .xml from this forum topic and have even tried editing it so that it looks in the right place but still to no avail.....

below are the locations of the games n roms, if someone can help i would be greatful smile.gif

GODS @ usb0/content/0000000000000000

MAME360.exe & SNES.exe @ hdd1/EMUS/ ( both folders are in here )

like i said b4 i cant stress how much and how many different ways ive tried this now for it only to give me an error message then reboot sad.gif

FSD1.20 works great now peoblems and was easy to setup up, this is whats frustrating as i cant see where im going wrong

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

forgot to add that on first install FSD 2.0 I point it at my usb HDD

i have downloaded and am uptodate on latest FSD, didnt bother with the earlier alpha release as i wanted to see what others thought and wasnt even gonna bother this until beta was release ( wish i hadnt now as im totally stressed ) LOL........

ive been still trying even mre since i last posted but still to no avail, im starting to believe that maybe there something in the source code that doesnt agree with the way certaian abox store there file on and off offiacial hdd ( this is my guess as im a my wits end)

would really love to get this sorted as i want to load this dash as my man dash but aint gonna commit to it until i get this sorted..........

I misread it the first time. It will always find the retail and the non-retail (devkit) titles.
The attribute only forces whatever it finds to a specific tab in fsd.
So <path retail="360" devkit="EMULATOR">usb0:\games</path> will put everything with a retail
signature in the 360 game list, and everything with a non-retail signature in the emulator list.

You can contact me via PM and we can get this sorted (put your fsd2config.xml and crash log, located in the same folder as the xex, on pastebin and add it to the pm)

lol, edit your fsd2config.xml to read
   <display horizoverscan='0' vertoverscan='15' horizdisplacement='0' vertdisplacement='0'/>
or whatever, or just edit it on settings on dashboard. simples.

Thanks mate. Was having this issue myself. Glad the fix was this simple biggrin.gif

i have 2x 1T drives connected to X - so far did not noticed that FSD2 is losing memory of my stuff. pain in ass is long time of loading menus ( 10-15 sec ) if you have games in three different places ( hdd1, usb0 and usb1 ) thats why i'm still using fsd 1.2

we are reworking the content scanning, and i'm keeping this in mind to improve the performance for
(swithing) multiple drives.

I just installed FSD for the first time (have never used before)

All worked, figured out the Paths stuff (finally)..but I started trying some themes and I notice that the text/fonts are not showing up in my themes..and I can't figure out why.

Google search came up empty..any ideas?  Thanks in advance

Got a little problem here and thought someone could help.
I've got most figured out. Getting my xbla and most games showing in right folder except for two games that show up in the homebrew category.

my .ini looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<config>
   <locale>en-GB</locale>
   <paths>

         <path>hdd1:\content\0000000000000000</path>
         <path devkit='EMULATOR'>hdd1:\emus</path>
         <path retail='360' devkit='360'>hdd1:\Games</path>
         <path devkit='HOMEBREW'>hdd1:\Applications</path>
   </paths>
   <feeds>
   </feeds>
   <skin>Default.xzp</skin>
   <Music Path='game:\Music\' MUST be in GAME:\ />
   <Video Path='' />
   <DVDCopy 360Path='' OrigPath=''/>
   <weather location='Stockholm' />
   <display horizoverscan='34' vertoverscan='26' horizdisplacement='0' vertdisplacement='0' letterbox='0'/>
   <ftp xboxip='0.0.0.0' port='21' username='xbox' password='xbox' />
   <gamelistopt background='1' preview='0' semitransparent='0' covers='1' />
   <mainscreenopt tempstatus='1' diskstatus='1' celsius='1' parent='0' showip='1' showstatus='1' showavatar='1' />
   <moreoptions fanspeed='40' ledformat='0' />
   <timeformat time='1' date='0' ntponstartup='0' />
   <autoupdater ondash='1' onskin='1' onplugin='1' onbeta='1' installer='0' />
   <Version XEX='0' />
</config>

The two games that show up as homebrew are in my "hdd1:\Games" folder. Thing is that i have another game there that shows up like it should under 360-games.
Any thoughts?

This may have been covered earlier in this thread and I overlooked it, OR it could have been after half way through when I got sick of people bitching about gamerscore crap and jumped to the end.

I can't get the temp to display.  I know you press the back button,  and nothing happens when I press it.  Am I missing something?

If u have updated fsd2 alpha since its release u have to press the right thumb stick down to get it to show temperatures.

As far as the FSD2 dash goes love it, its great how it's got the auto update feature and downloads coverart etc.. What would be another great feature would be some sort of parental control so you could lockout certain tabs for instance the Homebrew tab, where i have dashlaunch flasher, nxe2god and xexmenu. or the settings tabs, nand and filemanager tabs.

Thanks f0xrolder, worked like a charm.

I definitely agree with FS2a being good.  Big ups to the ability to edit the colors of the dashboard!

I'd need some more info, like your content xml, and a log from the actual scanninig, because having '360' in the games path should already solve your problem (if you did that afterwards, you should rescan -> Utilities, Settings, 2nd tab, clear data or something)

any ideas why it is taking forever to scan for me? please note this is NOT the first time i've scanned...my fsd2content.xml has been there. i also didn't add a lot of things to it between runs.

this has finished in 1 minute before, but this time it took 16!! minutes to scan.
