This is nice. Can't wait to get my box back to try it out. Too bad about the game icon. Won't keep me from using it though. This and the new snes360 have made it more of a pain use my xbl profile. I was getting tired of swapping it around anyway, and 28k geek score is enough for me.

Achievements are a part of the experience, and whether or not you like them or care about them is irrelevant - this change prevents a portion of the userbase from using these tools and dashboards as fully as they'd like.

If you are really only interested in getting your gamer score up then I suggest you sell your jtag and buy another retail box to double your achievement getting abilities 2 fold!

Please, tell me how I can better utilize my exploited 360 than the way I am right now.

How about running any amount of unsigned code that you wish, as well as running Linux, developing your own code and apps, and getting to test and help be apart of the debugging process of great homebrew and dashboard alternatives like... well... FSD 2.0.

Hopefully this will give you a better idea of what you can do besides upping your gamerscore on a Live profile that shouldn't even be on jtag in the first place.

You know I was really looking forward to this release and with all the positive things being said about how awesome it was going to be, now I find the same people whining about how a single 'Previously played' icon ruins their whole experience and wont ever touch this dashboard again.

If this is how half the general public acts to the kind release of an ALPHA, as in not the final representation of the code used, to let us get a taste of what the final build will look like then I'll wouldn't be surprised if they don't ever do anything this nice again, and instead make use wait weeks to months for another final build.

If you took the time to read the comments, we're not disappointed in the product, but they have said that they WILL NOT change this. We were not aware of that fact and wanted to remove it from our achievement lists. That is all.

I was and AM excited about FSD 2.0, even though I don't plan on using it. I have also donated to the project. Before you jump down my, or anyone else's throats over this, why don't you head on over and donate (if you haven't already).

Just because I can't use this, I see its value to the community. That is why I support the project and am trying to help people get it up and running on their systems.

HOWEVER, you clearly don't see the point of an ALPHA release. It is to discover FLAWS in programming. Team FSD probably won't change the displaying of it in achievement lists, but they may not have considered this being a problem.

I think it speaks HUGE volumes that being displayed in the achievement list is really the only complaint listed in this thread (save for the fan speed)...it means they have done an excellent job.

I read all the comments up to this point and it is filled with people like me who don't care about the achievement list add on because they keep their live profiles off their jtag/don't care in general and those who find it necessary to boost their gamer score on their jtags. Kinda hard to tell seeing as those people say that they 'love' the product but wont even use it because of that feature.

lol, are you going to give me the money to donate with? I would have donated a long time ago to this and many more projects but I cant because I don't have any to give right now or any way to give it even if I did.

REALLY? I had no idea, thank you for enlightening me, if you read my post I already said that this was the debugging stage where we would find bugs in the program and report them, but I guess that doesn't count.
I already have a few bugs to submit, which I will do tomorrow as I am tired.

I couldn't care less about the achievements list, but the fan speed I agree on, but this is an easy fix just boot into FSD 1.20 and set your fan speed then boot into FSD 2.0. I also agree that they did an excellent job.

I'm gonna end this here as I don't want to turn this into an argument. If you don't want to use it then that's fine but don't start boycotts of this dash just because you don't like one of its features. This isn't directed towards you in particular Minus I think you've been pretty reasonable in dealing with this, but the general public.

Edit(figured I'd be somehwat helpful in this post):

ploggy use this line in your <paths> directory:
CODE
'replace with emulator directory path'

I can see your ending your paths with '\' mine right now don't and my emulators show up fine, maybe you could try that, also my emulators directory is spelt 'Emulators' I had this same problem(named mine EMULATOR too) and renamed it which seemed to do the trick.

I can't believe that people are actually complaining that their Live profiles are containing recently played data of homebrew apps after they've used it on a JTAGED console, are you serious? Live profiles belong on Live boxes, so use them there, and no where else. Either completely separate your modded console and its profiles from your live box and its profiles to stay safe from a ban, its your own choice and risk to intermingle the two and you should not be forcing or relying on the authors of free homebrew software to insure you are safe on live. That's your problem, not theirs.
People aren't forcing or relying on the coders of different homebrew apps for keeping their profiles safe. Why do you think people decided to not use FSD 2.0? It's about personal responsibility. Sure, we'd like to use certain programs, but it's not the end of the world if we don't.

You say it's fine to not use the app, but that people should stop sharing their opinions on the fact that this appears in the games history. As far as I remember, all previous homebrew, save for Snes360, have not appeared in the game history. There was a small uproar about the achievements back when Snes360 was originally released and it turned a lot of people off toward using it, including myself. Some people really liked the achievements, but some didn't. It wasn't a divisive issue, but a simple difference of taste. I don't think it's wrong for people to express distaste for certain aspects of a program. Feedback is part of being a community. In fact, it's an essential part of the development process. As long as the feedback stays constructive, it is useful. When it becomes destructive is when its value significantly diminishes.

I haven't seen whining abounding in this thread. Sure, there was a single person who took things slightly overboard in his reaction, but most of us have merely expressed our dislike for one aspect of an otherwise stellar program. Mattie has been very gracious in all of this and tried to help people in their attempts to experience FSD 2.0 as well as maintain their game history how they want. His tact and ability to wade through the crap and maintain politeness in his responses is definitely appreciated. A lot of people could take some good lessons from him.

In the end, I won't be using this alpha, but that doesn't mean I don't support TeamFSD's endeavours. They've taken upon themselves a monumental task and produced a great product--even if it isn't entirely finished yet. I say cheers to them and keep up the good work.  smile.gif
