Ok so Flash FXP is setup n conneted to xexmenu i have put done this so far with failed results... where am i going wrong

so im using QUICKBOOT v2.1

1. ADD ENTRY
2. NAME ( at this point i change this to Snes360 )
3. DESCRIPTION ( i also change this to Snes360 )
4. PATH ( This becomes \Snes360\ )
5. EXECUTABLE ( changes to Snes360.xex)

i will now hit the build button and get the following message:-

Created container in:

C:\users\sharpe\desktop\xbox\quickboot v2.1\content\000000000000\c0de1234\00007000\

Would you like to upload to your xbox?
i hit yes but get an error message.......

this aint so much a problem because i can just trnsfer it now using FTP to :-

Hdd1/Content/0000000000000000/ here

i will now be able to see it on the NXE dashboard. but my problem is when i try to load it up i get a black screen then the xbox will just go back to the NXE dashboard as if nothing has happened

this is that same result i get with all attempts either with MAME360 or the FREESTYLE dash 1.20

i have read everywhere i can look but i know im missing something somewhere ???????

just dont know what?

ps thanks for the FTP tip it works like a charm!!!  biggrin.gif

wtf? where did you get "c0de1234\00007000" from? You can't just use random characters blink.gif lol

Anyway, if you have xexmenu installed on an internal HDD, then you already have this folder structure in place on your 360...

hdd:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00080000

So you just copy the QuickBoot file you create, to that location.

When looking at the 360 via FTP, I have Snes360.xex and it's other files/folders stored in /Hdd1/Emus/Snes360

So for the path: in QuickBoot you would enter Hdd:\Emus\Snes360\Snes360.xex

I'm using an internal HDD, if you are using a USB drive, then obviously you'd enter a different path.

Ah! you must be hitting Auto Build, that's when it gives you 00007000

Auto Build seems to be busted for me, when I use that, it creates the folders Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000 but there is no file in there huh.gif

Maybe you're supposed to put the Snes360 folder in there?

Regardless of which option I choose, I've never been given the option "Would you like to upload to your xbox"

the only problem i've noticed is Europe roms running at 60fps, could be running at 50fps

60fps ftw, that's the way the were meant to be played, right?

BUG

1. Was playing Super Metroid
2. Went to Menu to make a Preview.
3. Saved my state.
4. Loaded Legend of Zelda.
5. Tried to make a preview but did not get confirmation.
6. Played a little of the game and then went to save state and the xbox crashed and restarted.

Super Metroid Preview - Worked
Super Metroid Save State- Worked
Zelda Preview - Failed
Zelda Save State - Failed

Dont know if the team or person who made this great emulator visits this site. If not oh well I did not know where else to post this.

Zelda preview (of the title screen) worked fine for me, same with Mario World, Mario Allstars, Mario Kart, Metroid, Super Street Fighter

Still says v0.31 in the corner, but v0.32 in the About screen

Button config isn't saved in Super Street Fighter

I noticed that roms with large file names lock up the xbox is there a limit to how many letters you can use?

Use this to automatically rename roms that have more than 42 characters in their name:

I would just like to say that this is the most accurate SNES emu I've ever used! I'm never going back to xbox1 snes emus ever! This 360 emu has made me incredibly happy! I cannot thank the developers for this. This emu should be a template for anyone wanting to port SNES to whatever system!

I would like to explain my 2 reasons.

---------------
Sound/SFX
---------------
The sound quality is by far DEAD ON 'imo' just like the actual Super Nintendo's Hardware! The only xbox1 emu worthy of sound quality is lantus's snes emu. My comparisions, are the following 3 games.

1. Contra 3
--------------
The sfx when cycling through the title screen menu, shooting the homing missiles, shooting the contra missiles. These sfx are 100% IDENTICAL to the actual SNES hardware! I have a very keen ear to sound, and when I would use ZSNES on xbox1, it was never correct. I even wrote to nes6502 years ago, but he never understood what I was talking about. I like the XPORT emu of xsnes9xbox for xbox1, but that's not accurate either. But this 360 emulator is PERFECT for playing Contra 3!

2. Super Mario World
-------------------------
Perform the spin jump, or grab a mushroom and turn into super mario, using ZSNES or xsnes9xbox on xbox1. The sfx are choppy and not accurate. This 360 emulator is DEAD ON with the sfx!!!

3. Megaman X
-----------------
For some reason with the xbox1 emus, there's never an accurate balance between the music & sfx. The sfx always overlaped the music in the xbox1 emus. This 360 emulator has the proper balance between music & sfx!

And finally....

----------------------------
Original Aspect Ratio
----------------------------

This 360 emulator, is DEAD ON with the Original Aspect Ratio. The only xbox1 emu that came close, was xsnes9xbox. Even though that xport emulator has the option to select Original Aspect Ratio, it's not 100% accurate. This 360 emulator is! I don't have pics, but you can easily see the comparisons with these 2 roms.

1. Super Mario World
-------------------------
Go to the level left of Yoshi's house. Look at the slanted hill. The pixles (when viewed in xsnes9xbox) are not properly diagonal. You'll see some fatter blocks not matching the smaller ones going diagonal. The 360 emulator has perfect aspect ratio when viewing that slanted hill!

2. Megaman X
-----------------
X's health meter, (when viewed in xsnes9xbox) what X has for health, appears uneven. The lines are supposed to be evenly thin and spaced, but they don't appear that way in xsnes9xbox. The 360 emulator has perfect aspect ratio in Megaman X, his health meter is perfect! Perfect spaces, perfect pixels!

Again, I cannot thank the develpoers of this fantastic snes emu for the 360!!!!! As stated, I'm never using my xbox1 ever again for SNES play.

If I had to say one negative thing about this 360 snes emu, is playing Star Fox. Theres alot of BG clipping. But what do you expect from a Super FX chip in an early snes beta right?

Anyways, for those that are huge into SNES emulation, you have to grab this one! I look forward to future upgrades to this emulator!

so it looks like the file name being to big was my problem also. Even though the game was playing fine it would not save or save a screenshot with the file name that long.

for a sec i thought this was for the orginal xbox.  Has the delayed input using wireless controllers for the orginal xbox been fixed?  If not does anyone know how to resolve it another way?

Hey guys, just wanted to let you guys know that my problem had nothing to do with the filename limit. It was the "," in some of the games that I had. Now im loading all my games from usb0 so maybe that is why I can run games with filenames longer than 42. But anyway everything works great as long as there is no comma in the filename.
