Team Trinity released SkinFlasher360 for 360 Dev Kits:
Quote

Team Trinity has created this Skin Flashing application for you.

How to use:
1.Put both of the files SkinFlasher360.xex and font.ttf in the same directory.
2.Start up the xex and you should get a GUI, if for some reason your xbox is stupid then it will run blind mode.
3. Press A to backup your theme
3a. Press X to flash your modified theme named "flash.fdf" (without quotes) to your xbox
4. When its finished it will write out a log file and return you to dashboard.

Other notes:
This is NOT for jtags. (Maybe, I don't know...) This was developed for XDK's

Official Site: n/a, by Team Trinity
Download: n/a (built with XDK)

I don't get it, what's the purpose of this: just to skin the dashboard?

Yes...

It edits the contents of "FLASH:\\xlaunch.fdf" which contains sounds, some locales, and images for the XDK Launcher.

Although.. if you mapped your internal drives by using recint.ini or xbdm.ini you wouldn't need this really, as the FLASH:\\ partition would no longer be hidden.

But it makes it handy to see a preview of your dash I guess? Cool little tool, didn't try it out, probably won't, but nice job guys..

doesn't seem likely as this was made specifically for devkits, I mean is there even a xlaunch.fdf in the nand of a stock unit? Maybe I'll go check and see in my jtag later.

Why WOULDN'T it work on a jtag? Just use xextool to convert the .xex from DevKit to Retail?

I'm pretty sure unless you have a jasper there isnt room in your nand for xlaunch.fdf unless you made a really stripped down version.

But even then the kernel the jtags use doesn't support all the same things the kernel in the devkit does, so even if you put it in your nand, you probably still woudln't be able to run the files from the HDD of the devkit.  Unless you had them too, and possibly also the xam from the devkit as well.. I could be wrong though.

I don't think this has anything to do with Devkit to Retail conversion of .xex files so that isn't that much of a comparison... just saying, not trying to be mean. I think right now we are talking about if the xlaunch.fdf file was even on retail nands, which from what cancerous1 has posted seems like there is not.

Wow, so useless.

NOT for JTAG's eh?

Yeah.... because so much software came out for the 360 before there were JTAG's. Tons! Anyone else notice this? Software for dev boxes only started to flourish after the JTAG hack was found. Funny how that works.

None of us have a Dev Box. The % is too small to even matter. Stop wasting our time posting this crap.

Naw, not really. More a rant than anything else.

This isn't front page news though. Front page news is for people who have 360's and Xbox 1's, not dev kits. I would try targeting the demographic with a high ownership percentage. People with dev kits make up about 1% of this sites members.

Agree or disagree, I don't care. I know this is a valid point.

wow, you're totally right, why don't you make a front page post telling everyone they should start making you happy instead of themselves. /sarcasm
