Fsd 2.0 Should Be Released In The Next Couple Days!
« Reply #15 on: June 17, 2010, 03:30:00 AM »

I think its safe to say most who are anxiously waiting FSD2.0 arrival are not kiddies and are simply hyped at any new software or updates that come out for their Jtag.  Im keeping my mates box until this comes out before i'll give him it lol - he'll appreciate it more!

Thanks for the update HellDoc and your efforts are def worth it

all i care about is the indexer working. the current indexer is completely useless on the pc. it seems it times out and crashes because of this instead of just timing out.

if that works, i dont care if anything else is new or fancy. all i ask for is a working list smile.gif

Yeah I'm gonna do the Homer simpson and put myself in a sleeper hold untill it comes -out, I too saw the headline and blew my load only to find (after trying to download it without having read anything more than FSD 2.0 and looking at the Mplayer screen shot) That I had to wait:    Noooooooooooo    sad.gif  I guess JTAG is just that good.. I even rang a couple of friends and said Dude, guess what... FSD 2.0 is out !!!! I'll bring a copy around in half an hour .. So even they were dissapointed... Such an anti-climax.. Reduced to child-like xmas morning state like other posts.. Oh well If the sleeper hold doesnt last more than a few hours I guess I could try another Homer trick :Chloroform
SHould be falling asleep any minute nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

What exactly is the problem you have with the indexer? I know it isn't a great piece of software but it works just fine for me , my games all show up and play , my homebrew shows up , and you can hand modify the XML file to change the location of things if you want to.  And it always downloads the screenshots and info when available for the game in question.

I never read all the updates did they get the controller syncing issue resolved? I know that it isn't a problem on XexMenu but i don't like Xexmenu at all.

I think he was referring to Dashlaunch's ability to boot you back into a homebrew dash from the guide button, which requires you to have latest freeboot installed. Subsequently if you have latest freeboot + dashlaunch you can infact enjoy both memory hack AND xbox1 compat

When did this happen and what is the latest version? I could have sworn you still had to choose one or the other.

Nah that has been a possibility for a while now. When they released dashlaunch 1.0. With Jtag Tool it still has you choose one or the other , if you use freeboot toolbox maker 2.4 it has the dashlaunch 1.0 patch added in and you don't have to select 1 or the other they are both working by default now.

Awesome...so I disconnected all of my JTAG cables, is there a good way to update to these settings without them that you know of off the top of your head? I figure there must be...do I just need to take my nad backup and run it through the toolbox, then use flash360 from FSD?

I'm not complainig, and just like everyone else including you, we have the right to comment and have a unique or shared opinion.

My opinion is that; ... don't release something unfinished, don't release something we already have, and don't release short to what the promise of the software is; finish it first or get to the point where you can really offer the sold out features in a build and than release.

Simple as that.

And to be honest, I will be downloading no matter what, cause I'm like that  tongue.gif

I still think their are a lot of things that have been fixed/changed in 2.0 , and the bugfixes will all be included. They need to get an alpha release out so that the greater community can test it and report bugs and such. Their is no way for them to catch every single bug but when the thousands of use get to test it we will find more bugs and have more fixes.

This team clearly has a lot of things going on in their daily lives and not much time too code the software so maybe it is best they release it this way. Maybe they can get some more coders on their team if someone likes the software and wants to code for it.

I didn't even know an Mplayer port was in the works for FSD 2.0?

If you remember with XBMC ( not to bring it up again) they had a pretty steady release cycle after the first few builds were out , and this is a whole new team than who was working on FSD before. This will be their first release of FSD as far as i know?

A lot of the homebrew dashes have made pointless releases and this one doesn't seem pointless to me, look at 360menux why even mention that it was updated it is complete shit and yet their was a front page article about it a few weeks maybe months back.

on quick question for you guys, i know this prolly the wrong place to ask but what the heck, i have a jtag'd falcon and so has the little niggle of now and again giving me one red light, this is rare but its a pita doing the initial set-up again. on the xbox1 when the console had been switched off and unpluged long enough you used to have to set the clock and date again but booting to evox dash of xbmc directly would bypass this, is this the case with the initial set-up and direct boot to fsd?

That is a problem with the wiring of the jtag. I think this might help you

...just a heads up for you man...(i just updated xbr to freeboot a few minutes ago) if your original xbox nand had bad blocks flash360 has some problems for remmapping so you better use xellous or remmap them manually and then use flash360...
...another very important thing to mention (i know most people are more careful than I am but I just want to mention it) unplug your xbox from the ethernet after the successful flash ....freeboot comes with an updated dashboard an it will go through the basic first time setup...I stupidly said yes to something without reading it and my console logged in to Live... yea now my xbox is banned  sad.gif  sad.gif

Yup, Mplayer, Avatar render + animations, new skin support, artwork directly from console instead of PC Indexer, if no artwork downloaded, uses default nxeart in container (not too sure about this one, but for sure will do on disc).

These are the real reasons why FSD 2.0 is hyped and selling out as the best homebrew dash to be released.

Like I mentioned before it's sad to get a release without any of the new features as Helldoc mentioned. It's like FSD 1.20 > FSD 1.21, not really 2.0.
