Fsd 2.0 Should Be Released In The Next Couple Days!
« on: June 16, 2010, 08:27:00 PM »

Helldoc just updated his blog here stating that a Freestyle Dash 2.0 Alpha should be released in the next 2-3 days:

http://helldoc.blogs...till-alive.html

QUOTE
So sorry for lack of recent updates... As with every other members of team fsd, we've been busy as hell with our day life...

FSD 2.0 project is still alive even thought its been a while since it has not been updated. I'm currently starting cleanup work to get a fonctionnal version out.

I think this lack of updates was also due to some lack of communication between the team... Some weeks ago we were really near of an alpha release, like 2-3 days. Only some minor gui works was left to be done. Then we all started doing some need things we thought well be usefull and the whole thing started crumbling and seems like nobody wanted to take the time to fix it.

In the next few days, i'll try to get a clean, fully working build that you all can use.
This build will probably have every extra features off or non-fully fonctionnal but it will list games in a neat way and run them properly.

Regards,
HellDoc

I think if you read his post he is saying that two weeks ago they were gonna release an alpha build in 2-3 days.
I dont think that means it will be out in 2-3 days.

I am very excited for it as well. I am hoping with this being released it might push forward the homebrew scene a little bit. Gotta find ways to get more talented coders in developing homebrew for the 360. I am also hoping that a new version of freeboot will come out soon as well with a solid Dashlaunch 1.0 integration in it so I can set it to only boot with freestyle dash 2.0.

Idk yet , waiting to see what it has already.

I might take some feedback from people IF teamFSD does not cotinue development.

I might not be the best coder in the world but I do it for a living. C# for 2 years and C++ for one year, asp.net web site mostly and some windows apps. Plus I dont have a dev kit.

But it could be fun to see what I can add to it.

Haha, I just saw FreeStyle Dash 2.0 in the headline and almost pissed myself, only to find it was an update...I'm 30 years old for God's Sake.

While it may not be 2-3 days, I think it will be under a week based on the comments from HellDoc.

If this is the case, than it's more like releasing NXE skin with color edit.

If Mplayer port is not in this release, than we don't need FSD2.0 to be released yet, it's like FSD 1.20... but with a 2.0 at the end  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Seriously, if something gets released, it should have new stuff to it, not what we already have. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I say, just take more months if you need to finish it, release it for Christmas if necessary, but don't release something hyped with nothing new  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

You are clearly missing one major benefit, even if it is just FSD 2.0 which I think it'll be much better than, but feedback from a large group.

Regardless, this comment could've been withheld...if you don't want an Alpha release, don't download it.

I'm not complainig, and just like everyone else including you, we have the right to comment and have a unique or shared opinion.

My opinion is that; ... don't release something unfinished, don't release something we already have, and don't release short to what the promise of the software is; finish it first or get to the point where you can really offer the sold out features in a build and than release.

Simple as that.

And to be honest, I will be downloading no matter what, cause I'm like that  tongue.gif
