i know this is probably a stupid question but recently i just got the idea of upgrading my XBMC and i was just wondering how do you install it.... do i just drag and drop all of the new files into the XBMC folder in the xbox drive overriding all pre-existing ones???

heh heh yeah thats pretty bad...

yes, you can either overwrite all files or delete em all and throw the files from your new build in the same XBMC folder.

Yeah XBMC is really nice.. Its constantly being updated and getting new stuff added. Its a good Idea to update at least every 2 weeks. I tend to update every few days or so.. I just cant help myself. :lol:

thanks for the complement..... i was just wondering should i turn off my antivirus when transferring... because when i was doing this my antivirus keeps poping up about worm intrusions...............?

dunno whats up with the worm intrusions... I've never had that happen to me, but I make my own builds, so who knows whats in the ones floatin round the net. I recommend learning how to make your own, but if you dont wanna do that just check the usual places. The latest build is today..

Like I said the cvs is pretty much updated daily.

kk thanks.......hmm i dont know whats with the worm instrusions.....i think i wouldnt hurt just to turn it off while imm transferring the files and turn it back on afterwards......

The worm intrusion deal doesnt sound so good... You might wanna do a full sys scan for trojans and viri after you're done. Another thing.. u should check out xbins if you havnt already.

the lastest one they have listed on xbins is XBOX_Media_Center_2005-01-15 but the latest one that i found is XBMC Xbox Media Center 1.1.0 2005-02-21......?

The only reason I mentioned xbins is because It's a reliable source if you dont know how to compile. You said you were having issues with worm intrusions so thats why I brought it up.. As I said before who knows what is in those builds floatin around the net, I seriously doubt you will have any problems with trojans and the like if you just stick with xbins. Again the only way to stay completely up to date is to learn how to build your own.
