I tried it and got a light, so I'm going with v1.4.

Lucky people, I went through 3 brand new Xboxes (all in Jan) and they were 1.6's.  I now see that Jan 1-12 are the 1.4's.

Hmmm, I installed the chip at my friends house, booted it up to see if I did it right, got the flashbios screen, shut it down, and brought it home. Now all it gives me is
BootldeReadData data not ready...
BootldeReadData data not ready...
BootldeReadData data not ready...
BootldeReadData data not ready...
etc...
etc...

It fills the whole screen.
Any Ideas?

FlashBIOS v3.0.1

I think it's looking for the hdd, but I'm not sure.

Holy shite, I go to disconnect my DVD drive, and the IDE connector breaks.
Good times, good times.

Luckily, I have a couple spares lying around.

Would using an 80wire cable instead of the 40wire cable make a difference?

Apparently not.

I seem to be having trouble flashing the BIOS though.

I'm using the CD method, and I followed the instructions as best I could considering the only computer available to me right now doesn't have NERO installed. I made sure it burned to ISO and all that.
