The screen-shots on there site show more too. You can customize so much of the dashboard, it puts the stock NXE dash to shame big-time. Freestyle-dash is awsome.

Please tell me there's a way to disable them. Avatars are the worst thing that ever happened to the 360 GUI next to the thugster/blingbling/rap music video ads. sad.gif

Surely there will be an option to switch them off like they have done with the X logo bottom right corner - simplez  tongue.gif

Personally, I'd like to see some games that would use your avatar as the main character; having him as a dashboard decoration doesn't really seem all that 'neat'.

Only game I've seen do that is Madballs Babo:Invasion.  Never played it tho so can't comment further.

They announced a while ago that there will be media features on the FSD 2.0. Right now it just does WMV and MP3 files but sounds like they are interested in adding playback for other files as well.

This could be potentially really cool if we could get custom animations and types of avatars. The cool thing about this is we can make our own instead of MS giving us what we can make of it. This has huge "coolness" potential. MS avatars are too cartoony I think and we could model them after really proper looking avatars or objects, logos, etc. Dancing xbox logo or an animation of xbox peeing on a ps3.

Just saying theres always a way in new features.

Then again this is a small feature and we're dealing with a small group of coders so we'll find out when its released.

Just saying' just wait until you hate (chances are you'll be able to disable them as well)

It´s still using the avatars from MS i think you are missing the point

I hope so. I was so glad when after getting my 360 JTAG'd, that the avatar was gone, and wouldn't come back unless I went and did whatever it was you do to restore them. I didn't want it back, so I didn't do that. Hopefully not installing that avatar stuff won't make problems with this new fsd.

most likely will, just like not having avatar stuff installed can crash some games

so when is FSD2.0 going to stop feature creeping and actually work on getting the the BASICS of the program stable?

Maester is responsible for how the dash looks, not how it acts. Members of the group work at their own pace. You cant see the technical improvements in his videos now can you?

We are working on the BASICS but we are not going to rush and hack code together just to get it out there. Everything has/is being rewritten from scratch so it will be done when we feel its ready.

On another note big thanks to everyone out there supporting us. It makes working on this project a lot of fun.

I know its been a big job, and im not saying to 'rush and hack' code together, and a fantastic job has been done so far. Just seems like all these small features keep getting added with no to little work done on major components.

We would all love a release date because we are all excited about how this is turning out.  I love these updates thanks to MaesterRowen putting in serious graft.  Im simply happy to know that this is being worked on and will, when its ready be released.  Can't wait to see skins too  smile.gif

Plus media blade is the icing on the already tasty cake

and what the f*ck's the point of an avatar when, obviously, you can go on xbox live to show anyone anyway.

That's like putting a high performance stereo into a car....sitting in the junkyard.
