From teamfsd.com (updated with more info): Here is a short clip showing Avatars in freestyle dash.  There are lots of options available to skinners when creating their own themes.  You can rotate the avatar with a XuiSlider, you can auto rotate the avatar with an XuiProgress bar giving preview or user control of the avatar. You will also be able to create an avatar scene to show player 1 through 4 or create a randomly generated avatar. Here is a video showing multiple instances of the player 1 avatar.  The left avatar is on an autorotate with an XuiProgressBar element using a keyframe animation to loop the changing of the value. The right avatar is on a manual rotate with an XuiSlider...  I am controlling the right bar to choose where to rotate the avatar.... Skinners start brainstorming how you can use this in your skin! Think the way they'll have it to work is to render the avatar you have in NXE as is.

Add-ons must depend on your dlc rather than FSD.

Please tell me there's a way to disable them. Avatars are the worst thing that ever happened to the 360 GUI next to the thugster/blingbling/rap music video ads.

XBMC was the big thing for Xbox 1 and FSD will be the thing for XboX 360. It's a shame not every Xbox is JTAGable, However the people who wanted a JTAGED 360 are doing everything they can to get one. The Thing that is better with the 360 is the USB 2, Thanks to that you can connect almost everything inc Huge Hardrives. This would be a great Media player if we would get MKV support. I have a TviX 6500 right now with a hacked Firmware so i can watch rared MKV files. However the Tvix software looks super ugly, I would prefer Freestyle over tvix software every day of the week, even the hacked one is uggly because it looks to mutch like the original. There are great mediaplayers outthere however the software for all of them is so uggly even if it's functional.

Just get a Acer revo, or Zotac mag, and put XBMC on it...For $200-$300 you have one of the best media players available. Plus it's a windows/linux..whatever you prefer, giving you many more options than a jtaged xbox 360 media player.

must say i am liking FSD now 1.0 is not that good looking but 2.0 looks like its had a lot of work put in to it and is looking good still hoping for skinning

 They do mention that this is just a skin for a custom dashboard, so I'd assume you could choose a skin that did not support avatars.

Personally, I'd like to see some games that would use your avatar as the main character; having him as a dashboard decoration doesn't really seem all that 'neat'.

1. Will 2.0 support mp3's?
2. Will FSD eventually give us the opportunity to use the sata port of the dvd-rom to add a 2e hdd?

Im thinking about adding a internal usb hdd if its not possible to use the sata port.

1. Yes it already does as they said in their FAQ.

2. Almost certainly not as from my understanding the Dashboard doesn't control this is the kernel does, if it can be done it will be done by ether the freeboot/XBR.
