Freestyle Dash 1.20 Final
« Reply #150 on: April 20, 2010, 08:07:00 PM »

I figured it out. The images go into fsdata\artwork\"gamefolder" and use
the name convention of:

background.jpg    ;1280x720 jpeg image
boxart.jpg    ;219 x 300 jpeg image
icon.png     ;64 x 64 jpeg image
ss-1.jpg    ;296 x 166 jpeg image
ss-2.jpg    ;"                  "

Then edit content.xml for the game your working on, ex:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<freestyle>
   <game type='1'>
      <id>5345082a</id>
      <title>Aliens vs Predator</title>
      <path>hdd1:\Games\Aliens vs Predator\Default.xex</path>
      <desc>Aliens vs Predator</desc>
      <imgpath>Aliens vs Predator</imgpath>
      <images sscount='18' icon='1' boxart='1' background='1' />
      <mediaid>3977704</mediaid>
      <manufacturer>Rebellion</manufacturer>
      <disks no='1' count='1' />
      <version>1</version>
      <custom c_type='1' />
      <genres>
      </genres>

set the images count for each type to "1" except sscount (screenshot count),
just count how many screen shots you have.

Put the Game description in   <desc>Aliens vs Predator</desc>
Manuf name in             <manufacturer>Rebellion</manufacturer>

Did you install the hacked xbox 1 emulator files? If not try installing them and see if that fix the problem.
(You wont be able to find the files here, youll have to search google for them.)

does anybody know why when you boot your 360 without the usb HDD turned on it changes content.xml and no longer displays box art/screen shots?

never had that problem, but then again, I have all the freestyle files ON my usb hdd, so I wouldn't be able to launch FSD w/o my usb hdd connected anyhow wink.gif

It sounds like you are saving your content.xml to your USB drive, which is fine...but if you are often powering on the Xbox without it turned on or connected, then I'd recommend saving your FSD data to your Xbox HDD, not USB.

I've tried looking for the answer to this question but haven't been able to find the answer:
If I install freestyle dash to the internal hdd, can it still run games off the usb harddrive? Or does it just look for the games folder on the root of the drive it is installed on?

no, it will look in both drives...
also you can edit the config.xml in the fsdata directory to specify where fsd will look.

I just set my fan speed to "auto" and after playing GTA4 for about 20 minutes, I got overheating 2 lights. It had previously been at 60%.

NOTE: However, that was the 1.10RC1 release, since I have updated to 1.20. I also deleted the config.xml and it seems the default now, is auto.

Just played again for about 20 minutes of GTA4, and the CPU was at 50, GPU 67, and Ram 77. Is this okay?

Isn't there an option for the dash to not change the fan speed, just let it be...like it normally is?

Thanks.

I think it may have just been a bug in 1.10RC1. It's default was 60%, while I think the Auto just flat out didn't work.

Whereas, 1.20 the auto is the default.

I did almost an hour of heavy GTA4, and the temps didn't skyrocket. 50ish CPU and 65ish GPU. Anyways, no overheat. Also, I could definitely hear the fans changing speeds based on stress.Suppose it was just something in 1.10RC1. Glad it didn't kill my Xbox.

Can anyone confirm this?

Its a falcon....

<3 M$. 360 is the biggest crap technology, i've ever experienced. the entire platform was a total technological blunder.

I'll recheck my temps in the morning, but i'm pretty sure thats what I saw after gaming.

How are you keeping those temps so low? I have a Xenon, replaced the GPU heatsink with a falcon heatsink, replaced the thermals past, and I am still about 10 degrees warmer...any tips?!?!
