A very powerful machine? maybe a very powerful GPU yes, but it seems the CPU is not that fast and MAME relies only upon CPU speed... I verified that games like Darius Gaiden and Mortal Kombat 2 slows down in Mame360, but my old 2.0 Ghz PC plays just fine these games. I think the removal of the general processing unit from xbox360 CPU killed almost 80% of its original speed, so I think to run this emulator on xbox the gpu must help it someway to get decent speeds.
What? Some of BS on this board!
The 360 has an adaquatetly powerful triple core PowerPC CPU running at 3.2GHz - it has a through-put of 10Gb/s to a custom ATI Xenos GPU which actually has a running speed of 2x500Mhz (there are two chips working together).
The 360 is more than capable of running Mame via the CPU.
I have no idea what you mean by "I think the removal of the general processing unit from xbox360 CPU killed almost 80% of its original speed" - that just doesn't make sense at all. Do you mean Graphics Processing Unit? Killed 80% of it's original speed? What? You're just making this up!!
I've lurked here for almost a year now, but the amount of BS that isn't being corrected has forced me to do this!
