yes if you want to use a thumb drive you need to put in a folder called games then another folder with the name of the game and then the extracted game data.

go to the freestyle 1.08 thread and download the complete package. the one on google is just an update. that will have the iso in it as well as FS indexer

ok thanks for the response.
i do have the iso from the 1.08 thread now - but how am i to update with the version from the google code page?  since it's running from a cd?

and the only reason i thought i needed to run the thumb drive was so that i could index the games?  since i don't have ftp or internet access to the xbox.

so i'm not sure what you meant about that folder structure on the thumb drive?

thanks again for your help

Are there any plans to add name parsing support for the file manager so you know what is in each folder like some of the PC 360 HDD browsing apps do?

This is what I mean:

That would be VERY nice as without it is a nightmare. Are their any programs that do this with 360 HDD's like Xplorer360, or just USB FAT drives?  If there is I've completely missed it and I need it!

I love this Freestyle Dash but I do have one problem and it may just be something I did wrong. I used Iso2God for GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City and only GTA IV is shown in the 360 Games menu. If I want to start Episodes I have to go to NXE to launch it. Is there something I can do to fix it?

Change folder name to something else.

Example:

If game is, and I think it is 545407E2; move your ISO2GOD created game to a new folder called, maybe go with 545407FF and put your game in there. It's not necessary to change the name of the god package inside 00007000 folder.

After, let Freestyle scan again, and you'll have both games visible and launchable, this doesn't affect NXE and yes, the game will boot fine.

As for the artwork and previews, you have to make that new folder in the artwork folder and manually add your boxart, preview, etc, etc. Edit content.xml, find the title of this game and change the image folder path to the newone that ends with FF.

Cheers.

New Pre-Compiled SVN version available. Find it at the google code page.

Change Log:

FTP fixes for stability and Active mode
GamerTag displays on main screen
Can move items between menus (move snes 360 god package to emulators)
Fixed Status code
Semi-Transparant Screens so you can see your background images.

There is much more, but thats what i remember off hand.

Lots of people are working on this now, and the changes are coming in fast. This is an svn release.. we have much more coming before full version update.

Nice appreciate you keeping the dash alive with all the nice improvements, in the ftp area especially get the ftp to run as good as the one with xexmenu and that would be awesome cos that's about all I use xexmenu for now anyways is just ftp

Just installed your new pre-compiled svn version and all is good I can connect to ftp without pasv mode now and speeds are greatly better have a question though I use ftprush for a client and every now and again I try to go back from a directory it wont do it just wont back out of a directory. Also did you  update fsdindexer, I couldn't use my older one from earlier release had to use the one packaged with this release not complaining because the one in this release ran much faster.

Not sure why, but once I updated(I deleted old freestlye completely and replaced with new one) it can't detect any of my games. the paths in the config are all set up right, it just doesn't see any of the games in there.
Thanks a lot for the update though, appreciate all the work being put into this dash!

edit: when using an older version, it sees all my games just fine, only in this version it's doing that

FTP should be as good as XeXMenu now. I didn't do much in that department. That was Node21 and HellDoc primarily. There are quite a few people working on this now.

CDUP Is still being worked on. Hopefully will be fixed before full release.

Yes, the indexer was updated to recognize some index settings required for new features.

You delete the freestyle folder? Did you clean up the FSData folder? If not it may be having difficulties with the FSData folder on your drive. Run the indexer bundled with the package it should resolve it.

love the transparent background.
for those who are having probs with the latest release, im not having any
the only prob im having is the day on the day/time is getting cut off

suggestions -
     - "Unplayed" category , like that of the favorites category
     - indexer gets info for japanese games (from CyberSnuff, page 2)
     - background images load faster so as not to cause a delay when scrolling through games

keep up the good work!!!!
i wanna donate, put up that link!!!!

Actually just got it to work by deleting the fsdata folder and running indexer again right before I saw that.
Thanks a lot for the new update! loving the transparency option
