Since FreeStyle Dash went opensource there has been some development on its new google code page. JQE released a new compiled version: Notable new features: * GoD launches from Game menu (not arcade) with full cover and screenshot support * Parental Controls. * Configurable Temp, Disk Space, and IP Address on the main screen. The files are downloadble from the google code site. Again any developers want to add just send me a message and i will be happy to add people. I will do my best to co-ordinate changes and add things to the SVN. The big thing is FTP needs to be worked on, and sadly i don't know much about the FTP configs... I downloaded the one from the google SVN and getting freezing. not seeing all my skins, and no configurable temps, or parental controls.....

Thanks again, but is there any way to get the dash to default to the Xbox 360 games section, rather than the main menu or arcade section?

This version does put GODs in Games Section and XBLA in XBLA section.

make sure you delete your old hdd1 or usb0:\\fsdata\\content.xml and \\config.xml

Or else your gods will list in XBLA due to old .xml files.


This happened to me, but fixed it by deleting these files and letting new dash rescan everything.


Note: We might need a fixed FSD Indexer, as the current Indexer will not pick up any of the GODs in new generated content.xml


To enable my boxarts I had to replace all <boxart='0'> to <boxart='1'> manually in content.xml to reenable them back.

Seems to have some errors in it, Im gona stick with the old one for now...

Is there a few files i can just reaplace to get the temp and ip to work ?

nup the xex has the new code in it and to display them you need the new skin files to show them so basically you need the hole thing.

@JQE thanks for the release i was asking for a version of freestyle that showed cover art / screenshots for the GOD files and here it is. thanks again now this is open source there will be more cool stuff added to the dash. this looks like the dash that the majority of people will choose to replace the stock NXE dash of jtagged 360's.............................sudeki300

I had an idea, I was thinking since Freestyle is now open source, could someone edit the "Homebrew" tab to read "Movie's", Well i could do it but i have no idea which file in the code contains the code for the text "Homebrew" ?

Does anyone know ?

What about the people that actually use the homebrew tab.... It would make more sense to add a tab instead of replacing one.

True, I thought of that but i would'nt be able to do that because i would need to make it so when u go to the right/left it will slide across and show the "Movies" Tab kind like on nxe, Im not THAT good lol....

I was only going to edit this for myself but i mean if other were intreased i could post it up here, I also have a cool skin that i made to go with it and i can include xex menu 1.1 with a cool skin i have made for that and cool boxart.

So again to just clear up, does anyone know which file is the one to edit the text "Homebrew" ? I can edit the images myself.

Hey thanks for the #1 Alt Dash...Don't see any that come close to this nice...Hope it keeps progressing..Is there any way to give a merge option in the freestyle file browser..so instead of overwriting a folder it will merge it???Either way Great Great  Dash...

Thanks, I did'nt even bother editing it becuase i tried adding a move into the Homebrew folder just to see if i could play it dosent show up. Someone should code it so movies show up and when u click play it launches in the nxe dash player....

It's a work in progress I guess, using aquatica skin v4 supports the viewing of the temps/hdd in main screen but you lose the options for turning on/off what you want as far as temps/hdd/ip. But it's a workable thing as long as you set the options you want first before choosing another skin maybe in future updates with freestyle and the skins it will be sorted.
