Final Fantasy Xiii With Freestyle Dashboard 1.09
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:57:00 PM »

Hi, this game has 3 dvds, how can we play this with freestyle dash?

should we use folder FF XIII and sub folders dvd1 dvd2 dvd3 ?
most of the files are different from one dvd to other but some with 1gb and 1.6gb same file name are there.
any ideas how this should be done?

Our walmart messed up and had them for sale early and snagged a copy and we want to put it on an external hard drive and combine into one for convenience.

I expect this is going to be a very popular topic shortly.   Multi disc games are one thing that really need to be worked out.

have you tried installing it through NXE and converting to GoD Do this for each disk or one? The dash should handle it.

Or copy all files into one folder. The common files are probably framework. You could do a hex compare to see if ther are the same.

This is a question I asked myself a few times these days since I got my jtag Xbox, how about multi disc games when you play them from a HDD using NXE2GOD or ISO2GOD, can you make the disc switch?
I guess if you switch the "discs" when playing from the HDD you have to actually exit the game and start it again by running next one and this way a switch on the fly is impossible. However this shouldn't be an issue if you can save your game right at the end of a disc before you are asked to switch the disc.

Does anyone here have experience with this from another game like Star Ocean or Blue Dragon, how is the disc switch handled there?

Allsatar's release has been nuked because of anydvd style corruption (not that it matters on a jtaged box). Ether way though the question of multidisc games is something I've been asking for a bit but with no clear answer. I think the idea of having folders of title name => disc1 etc would be the simplest solution.

I am using freestyle 1.09 and all I do is use xbox image browser and extract all three disk to my usb hdd..It will overwrite the files that are the "Same" and keep all the other ones....

Have not had a problem when doing this with other games..

that can cause problems though in mass effect 2 it broke the character import feature. So while it may work that's not a sure thing hence why people are asking if theres anything else they can do.

You could copy the DVDs with XeXmenu or similar then FTP it to your computer, then make compatible ISO files from it and run it trough ISO2GOD.
You would still need to swap discs by returning to the dash and launch next disk, but this is a nice workaround until someone find a proper workaround to turn multidisk games into 1 disk or something.

Rumor has it the img.key files are off by 1 one bit for each disc. The game might check which of the three you have & fail. This may or may not occur, depending on the behaviour of the the xex. From what I hear, all other files (excluding the default.xex's) are identical or otherwise named differently (so they could all be merged into one folder.)

No one will know if this works until someone tries it and plays past the end of the first disc.

Can't wait for this game to come out!

Wow I cant believe they put it out before they were supposed too lol. You can bet your ass someone will either lose their job or get a d-day(my wife works there and she said thats what they call it when your ass is on the line). Thats too funny.
Good catch I would have never spotted it.
Also i wonder if you would get banned for going on live with that game(not on his jtag ofcourse). I mean its not like you stole the game or anything. WM had it on shelve and sold it to you, you didnt break any rules or laws or anything. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

But this would not work if you have to swap the disc on the fly without being able to save at the end of a disc, because if you exit the game to load the next image you would lose that progress to the end of disc 1.
