Thanks..
I've looked at the readme there's like 10 steps to do it... it does seem to be a bit risky. Also Does this all work with only the RJ45 Cable connected to the xbox 360? Or do I have to open up the xbox 360 ?
It's not that hard to build a freeboot image even tho the readme has effectively scared off a crap-load of nubs since it's just so long I guess but in reality it only took 2 simple commands and a couple items you have to get to build the image.
Just need the 9199 dash files and then a patched SMC for your motherboard, there's a link to a package of all the patched SMCs for each motherboard model in the #freeboot channel topic, I used these SMCs with my 2 360s without any issues!
9199.zip can be obtained from Xbins or the offical M$ Site but I'd feel better using the one from xbins. Just extract it and put it into the data folder and then move your things from the temp folder that you've extracted your orginal nand image into as the readme asks you to do, Only like several files from the temp folder need to be moved into the data folder then go on and issue the cmd to build the freeboot image which is in the readme. Then your all done and ready to flash!
It's recommended to use Xellous to flash so if you've got Xell on your unit just grab the Xellous package and rename the xell-1f.bin or whatever bin is proper for your setup to updslot0.bin it'll tell you which one to use again all this info is in the readme.
No need to jtag or hook up the 360 at all to get this done.
