FML I just did the same god D*** thing.  Renamed the patch.s file to updpatch.bin and flashed.  Boots to XELL, just have the version that comes on XBR, no Xellous.  Any ideas? (short of re LPT flashing that is)

pretty sure even xell, looks for updflash.bin on USB etc, too just like xellous ?

but does prove that i can mess around with this patch, changing the device to try get it to load fom USB smile.gif
bit of trial and error smile.gif

Hey I installed the patch for my xenon and I put launch.xex on the root of my external USB with the path of my freestyle dash. When I boot it it goes straight to my nxe dash. Do you think it's a problem with the external hdd not being booted up before it looks for launch.xex. It's a seagate 1.5tb hdd and takes a bit when booting up

I'm using to 0.5 version that has been modified

LOL , this perfectly shows that you did not read attall the above posts .. !

its something you really should try !
but its because the launch.xex needs to be on the 360 HDD
thus you NEED a 360 HDD connected...

which is what my posts were about! and trying to adapt the patch to allow it on USB too

they were refering to the launch.ini file ) as the USB ini file get preference, and therefore have the USB.ini file present on the usb device pointing tarwards the location...

At the point from where launch.xex is started, there are only three options: flash, cdrom, hdd. If someone makes a way to reliably modify flash contents, one could change the path to \\Device\\Flash\\launch.xex or similar.

after patching with this, it works fine, Though I am trying to install the fall avatar update patch to it on an external usb drive.

I have my 1tb hooked up to it (internally) then i have a flash drive hooked up to it, all it does, is gets to the "yes update" or "no, don't update" screen and I can't move up or down on the controls. or hit any buttons.

Anybody know if dash launch messes that up or not?

What the heck, didn't you ever read the readmes on Xell or Xellous?

There's no need to LPT up the sucker once you have Xell or Xellous running on there, for either

they can be updated \ Just the Xell Part of the unit

by renaming the updated file to  updateslot0 or updxell somethin' like that! Just read the readme!  smile.gif

jester.gif  IT's MUCH FASTER Than the LPT Method for sure!!!

Now I'm tryin to install this patch but I do see quite a handful of folks are having issues, I think I'll sit back and watch how it progresses if anyone could please share their experince where it's working perfect without the random failures to where we'd be constantly replacing the ini or xex files on the root dir of the HDD or USB device to get back into our homebrew goodness!!!

Anyways to the folks who made this AWESOME!!!!!!!!! AND THANKS ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I need to do the patch: Updpatch.bin ??
But how can I decide which XBRpatch do I need?

Thanks!

Yeah it won't work till that patch is applied!
Just pick the right one that matches up for your 360 Hardware, ie is your nand one of these 16MBs or BigBlock or what?

Patched with updpatch_16MB.bin and now it's working.
GREAT app! Thanks!

PS: Now my wife doesn't feel that this new box is harder to controll (start Guitar hero!) than the normal one :-D

and we again in the troubleshooting thing ...  :-D

the very best way is to use xbins
all u need is an irc client (mIRC f.e.) and a ftp-client (like flash-fxp)

connect to the xbins channel, type the needed parts in the channel (f.e. !list) and u got the ftp data for the xbins ftp server
connect via ffxp and download all u want

at xbox1 times, xbins was a must have to get all the homebrew related data u need
i really hope that xbins grows in 360 stuff as well

Otherwise, try this link
http://www.logic-sun...launch-002.html
to get further infos ..
just googling my dear wink.gif
